I know how you feel Dawg. We just had a chimney fire this weekend while I was 400 miles away. The only thing that happened was it cracked some flue pipes. It is nice to have a smart enuff wife so the whole house didn't burn down. There goes the new wiring harness on the SS that I was going to buy to get the firewall started. Yes we have a house with a garage and a detached 2 car garage. I put new insulated doors on last year and was going to do windows and siding this year. I guess it depends on the new chimney.......

Please don't laugh at the pink doors and shutters. they were from the PO. They will be replaced with the new siding. Car parts are more important.

Yeah as I posted some pics before, we just did a fence. Cost about 1200 and then not to mention all the furnature we just bought last year, bout 5k worth. Theres a motor and a rearend. DOH!!!!

But I will say this. Its nice to have a place to work on the SS and not worry about it.

We just finished the basement here. Did it ourselves so it wasnt that bad for all the materials. Had to install a nw washer/dryer for the tennants, new floors, and this year we are tearing up the back driveway to make a bigger yard. Its sooo fun owning a house.

Dude, you have a brown house with pink shutters? I'm still laughing my ass off as I type this. The po definitely had a sense of humor.
All the toys in the driveway look nice though :)

Renter here. No desire to buy a house with the setup I have here. I definitely have one of a car guys dream land here.

I did a bout a year ago. I had a couple problems with my HVAC unit, but nothing major. I had an HVAC buddy that would come over and help me diag problems. it was gas-forced-air heater, I also had central air inn the house, if you could call it that. They called it refrigerated air out there. Some houses had "swamp coolers" which were a TERRIBLE idea, but it worked. It use water to cool the air being blowin into the house. It didn't work well when the humidity got over around 40%, though. the swamp coolers were known to ruin houses though. It would blow humidity into houses and it would warp doors, frames and pretty much everything.

I had a Flame Roll-out switch issue once with the heater. it was one of four safety switches. Something in that unit also had the evaporator for the AC in it somewhere. but the air intake was on the floor, of all g-d places. The fan and the intake air space gets filthy and you literally have to crawl in there with a vacuum to clean it.. and MY skinny ass just BARELY fit in there. 0_o..

The inspection on my house came back pretty good. Just minor stuff. Outlets not hooked up, no junction box in the ceiling for the garage door opener.. etc etc. Replaced a light fixture in the hallway because I kept knockin my head on it.

Anyway.. was 1220 sq ft, built in 1980 or 79. 3br, 2 bath, 2 car garage on appx 1/4 acre.
