Some of you have seen this before, but I'll just post it. I forgot about my PB account, not to mention these videos. Old but still bring back memories.
THIS is why I love it out west! I didn't like it at first, but it really grew on me. No one really around to bug ya. Granted most of the towns DO have population and sometimes it gets annoying having to drive thru the middle of nowhere to get ANYWHERE, but it actually gives you a lot of time to clear your thoughts.
This vid is filmed coming back From Las Cruces to Alamogordo. The next town over from where I lived. Typically, towns are about 70 miles apart. Here's a link to google Maps showing where it was. It was on Rt 70 on the left side of the map, heading NE.

Speeding on these highways is almost accepted. It'd be a waste of time and gas for a cop to drive an hour out to the middle of nowhere and sit there and do radar for and hour to MAYBE get one or two people.. besides, it takes 1/2 tank to get out there anyway. I've NEVER seen a cop SITTING and doing radar out in the middle of the desert.. BUT they drive around with their radars ON ALL THE FUKIN TIME.. so you learn to do the speed limit in town.
I'd behave in town, and if I wanted to open it up, I'd go out to the middle of the desert to get my speed fix. Stop at White Sands and turn around and open it the fuk up for a high speed run to 120+ on the way back (make it back to Holloman AFB in 2 min at those speeds.) Only thing is you have to watch out for Oryx. Like a deer/moose/mountain goat mix. A guy in a TA hit one once and it about flattened his A pillar/Windshield on his Vert. He had it fixed.
DESERT HW.. Speed limit 75, doing 85-90.

LEAVING BASE.. Doin 80, winding it out, not really ON it. Still bolt-ons and a Borla adj CB, catted LT's.
