I will get out to the park and scope out a good spot for wiffle ball and what not and see the condition of park grills to see if we need to bring our own. I also have a washer toss game I can bring out (please aim washers at appropriate target). Beer is authorized in this park but it'll be BYOB.

This should be a good time everyone so plan on coming out eating and chasing pizza with a plastic bat.

It's roughly 2 hours from the greater Boston area depending on where you are.

Camping info:
Devil's Hopyard Campground is open for the season from April 16 through September 30 (daily).

21 wooded sites near scenic waterfall. Stream fishing, no swimming. No pets. Reservations accepted April 20 through Labor Day.

There is a charge to use the campgrounds. Before you guys complain about that look at it this way. No charge=no toilets in state park.
I'd rather be able to go without having to wipe with a pine cone.

I've actually been to this place years ago, I don't remember it that well but I think it was pretty nice there. There is a castle not too far from there actually, I was down there seeing the castle at the time.

Pizza I think I'll chip in on some cheapo base bags if you want. It'll be a little easier to do a tourney in a large park that way.

Here is the story behind the name Devil's Hopyard:

At some time prior to 1800, there was a malt house near a small tributary of the Eightmile River called Malt House Brook, on George Griffin’s farm. Although the malt house was abandoned prior to 1814, during the period of its operation, Griffin grew hops in a small clearing—the "hopyard" -- beside the road running through the area now called Devil's Hopyard. But the Devil's presence in this hopyard is not so easily explained. The “devil” part focuses on the potholes near the falls, which are some of the finest examples of pothole stone formations in this section of the United States. Perfectly cylindrical, they range from inches to several feet in diameter and depth. These potholes were formed by stones moved downstream by the current and trapped in an eddy where the stone was spun around and around, wearing a depression in the rock. When the rock wore itself down, another would catch in the same hole and enlarge it. We know this now, but to the early settlers the potholes were a great mystery that they tried to explain with references to the supernatural. They thought that the Devil had passed by the falls, accidentally getting his tail wet. This made him so mad he burned holes in the stones with his hooves as he bounded away.

wiffle ball doesnt include base running. haha well atleast the way i play. this way you dont have to have like 5 guys per team you can just do doubles or triples and you assume base runners per hit distance.

200 or so people on a couple thousand acre state park is hardly a zoo.
