I can't decide what I want to do now..... oem replacement or keep slotted/drilled. either way it's time to replace the ones I have.

OEM is good enough. Only thing you gain with slot is aggressive appearance. I like my EBCs though ;)

get white box rotors and decent pads. its like buying EXPENSIVE Tires only to have them go bad after so long. its a waiste imo to buy Super expensive anything for a wear item. Aside from a clutch.

I got Duralast rotors for mine because I've had good luck with them not warping on other cars, and Hawk HPS pads because I heard a lot of good things about them. Drilled and/or slotted rotors are strictly for looks.

yeah I know the drilled/slotted is just for style points.. just needed someone to push me into the (be smart save $$ and get the stock shit) since the one's I have had on this thing racked up only aprox. 20k miles in 3 years the mistake I made that shortened their life was getting the ceramic pads. I really like the way they look, but for now I think I'll just do the right thing and take the smart road.

besides I think I found a hood!!! already the color I need, and I might be taking a road trip... who knows.

ended up going with the slotted rotoworks and hawk pads from ws6 ... store.

ended up spending $50 more than the oem's from advanced. (did more hunting around but settled on just slotted (no drilled)

may i ask why? for the price difference and the fact you cant even have them turned if you wanted to? id have gone with Wearever Rotors and Bendix or Equiv. pads

Some like the look and are willing to take the trade off pizza. What's wrong with that?

lol... yeah just like the look really, so the extra couple $$ won't hurt. (there is a tool out there designed to cut slotted/drilled rotors) just finding someone willing to use it is a PITA. I got quoted down the street @ the Mazda dealer to just cut the rotors @$150. not too bad, but when I drag them down there I bet they change their tune..

Most OEM rotors are made in south america and don't have a high iron content so they are very prone to warping (this includes most of your chain store rotors as well). I have the SSBC slotted rotors with pads, awesome kit, a set on the tahoe lasted almost 60K and at $399.99 a set (4 wheels)they are a pretty good deal. For blanks you can either pay for the brembos or I use centric on everything now including the cars I repair. Done about 30 sets now and only had 1 issue over the last 6 years which they made good on

I have EBC"s on the car now and they have been great, I just made the mistake of getting ceramic pads. they started juttering last year after a shorter than anticipated stop at high speed... think the pads are digging into the slots.
before that they were great. I'll see what I can do with them once they are off the car, but for now I'll see how the new ones work.
hoping to get new wheels by the end of the summer so I wanted something behind them.

fkn shipping sux... they sent the pads out by themselves so I have to wait till next week to get the rotors, no biggie though they upgraded the shipping for me for free so they should be here earlier next week instead of later.

anywho new brakes will make things feel better..
