Yup, seriously considering saying screw it and just tossing a 6.0/t56 into the 68, slap a turbo on it, bondo up a couple of the really bad spots, and worry about doing the chassis for the following season.
I've been waiting for them to do a route like this again since the last east coast tour in 99. I did both east coast tours, 98 & 99, and had a blast.
I mean c'mon, port canaveral Florida, Nashville Tennessee, Indy, Detroit? It's like a gearheads dream!

So yeah, may just hack the old girl back together for another season and hit the highway. Screw all the other projects for another year lol. My wheels are turning...

Now why would you do this to me! I have almost identical plans for my 67. Either a 5.3 or 6.0(whichever i can get a better deal on) with a t56 and a turbo.

Hey this has been my plan for about two years now :p
Pretty sure I'm going to be making some other changes too. Just need to break out the old tape measure and see if my ideas will fit ;)

Oh I hear you. I've been waiting literally 11 years for it to be all this close to the east again so I'm not going to hold my breath for it to get any better/closer again.
And I'd be shortchanging my other projects. Only thing I won't have the chance to get done right on the 68 would be the body. Mechanically it would be all there. I can polish it up enough to make it semi presentable again, I've been doing it for the last 17 years, one more won't kill me lol.

And it's easy to say you can just wait and go when everythings ready when you don't know what you're missing. I do, and have been dying to go again ever since the last one I did in 99. Not saying I'm 100% going next year but I'm trying to see if I can get all my ducks in a row to make it happen. If one of the trade offs is my 87 sits another year and I may wind up parking the z too oh well. I'll have my baby back so I don't think I'll miss them much lol.

Ok, did some thinking, looking, and discussing. After checking out the event rates on the website for hotels I'm 90% sure we're doing it.
Probably gonna start booking rooms next week before all the under $50 a night rooms are gone :)
Anyone else wanna join in and caravan along?

I would love to and I know Ashley would be up for it too but the Army already has me taking a two months off of work.
