View Full Version : Epic 3rd gen in this months GM HTP mag!
I really love this car!!! Makes me wish I had a 3rd gen sitting out in my yard instead of the 2nd gen! I'm waiting on my little brother to grow up a little so I can find him a nice 3rd gen project and make a nice car for him. He likes my car's style but loves 3rd gens for some reason haha! Anyways this thing is epic:

98+ dash swap is pretty cool but I actually like the old 3rd gen dash.
I'd prob go with an LT1 swap if we got one. Give him my other 95 LT1 :klab:

Nice car
I've been toying back and forth with the idea of selling my third gen lately but don't know if I can bring myself to do it. They can be alright cars.

Me too. I love how they drive and miss mine. If it were up to me I'd sell the fourth gen.
But, she likes the fourth gen and hates the third gen so if I'm going to let one go I'd most likely compromise and sell the 87.

I think the 4th gen steering is numb and overboosted compared to the 3rd's primitive set up. I always felt like I was driving a video game in the T/A, then I'd take Dad's GTA out for a ride and it is night and day

not me!!!! but yet i have only had one sooooo
I really sometimes strongly consider ditching the 2nd gen for a 3rd gen IROC project just like this. Clean quick bolt on lt1 street car and fresh :D But I'll leave that to my brother. I'll wait a couple more years when my car is getting a new motor and he can carry on the legacy and add to the clan. 2nd 3rd and 4th gens in one house? Just need to convince my step dad to find a 1st gen!!!

We have a first, third, and a fourth gen :)
I had a second gen, but I sold it to my father. Not a big fan on their size :p
Course someday I'll probably pick up a 70-73 ram air formula just to complete the collection ;)

Well you can but it won't be from Pontiac!
The 5th gen isn't an F-body sry :/ haha.
Yeah, the 2nd gen is a cool ride but its kind of like a difficul't to build thing. With 3rd and 4th gens you have a pretty solid and great handling chassis to start with and lots of availability to swap new era motors easily. 2nd gen is more of a go straight and go SBC carb car lol.
