So about 2 weeks ago my wifes 99Z started making a ticking noise from the front of the motor. My buddy and I did a little diag on it and found it to most likely be a lifter. Well low and behold I got the motor torn down this past weekend and number 1 lifter is shot. Took out thhe lobe on the cam too. Unfortunately we don't have the money to do all the bolt on and a bad ass cam while in there but we are putting in the comp replacements and deleting the AIR and EGR PCV systems. And Don is getting me a stock cam. I will get some more pics up later.

Who knows. It could of been a number of things. Her car doesn't get beat on at all. Not like my SS. I would expect my car to get a bad lifter. Oh well what can ya do.

Well in your case it's usually beat the ever living shit out of it till it probably wont ever start/run again! When you do it like that it cost you lots of money! lol

Could be a bad oil pump that caused it too, or a leaky oil pump O-ring. How many PSI of pressure did you have?

Over 60. Def not a oil pump issue.

I could see that if she didn't daily drive the car, but we do the oil change every 3 or 4 months.
