Definitely IROCs, I think almost any 17" wheel looks awkward on a 3rd gen

if i could find a set of chrome 88-90 iroc wheels id be all over it, problem is finding a set of refinished or mint original iroc wheels is HARD

true that i bought a set of 85-87 for the s10 and i have hours hours and hours into trying to get them perfect but they never had any actual damage and i got em cheap

I like the iroc they always to me looked the best on third gens.

I'd vote for silver painted factory 10 spokes myself.
But, keeping the stockish look may I suggest chrome 17" IROC's? Since you're thinking chrome anyhow...

^ FTW right there. Accomplishes everything. Dresses it up a little, still factory appearing since most won't notice they're 17's, and you can clear big brakes with no issues :)
Granted they're not 91-92 style but then again neither are 10 spokes ;)

now thats not a bad deal
I think 17's+ look dam good on 3rd gens. But 10 spoke ss's idk, don't think those would look good. If its down to only those two I'd say the iroc wheels.

Chrome sucks, I had them on my 300m. They weren't properly taken care of before I got the car so pitting and clear coat peeling. I will NEVER own chrome rims again. To much work to keep looking good. Just my two cents.

the reason im on the fence is because im going to be buying an ls1 donor car and would like to use the rearend and because its wider the iroc wheels would stick out pretty good in the rear. if i go with irocs ill have to find a nice 3rd gen rearend which is not going to be easy. i really like the chrome 10 spokes but i always wanted the exterior to look stock, so its a tough choice.
Formula413
03-02-2011, 10:28 PM
I really think the IROC wheels look better but I didn't think of the rearend issue. Do fourth gen wheels cause any fitment issues in the front?
SLP IROC-Z
03-02-2011, 10:36 PM
id have to use spacers in the front
irockidz28
03-02-2011, 10:45 PM
i think you need like 2" spacers to run 4th gen wheels on a third gen

IROC wheels are way nicer, I like 91-92 Z28 wheels too. I don't like the 10 spokes or Chrome, so you are on your own.
