I am sure some of you guys and gals have seen my build elsewhere, but since it has taken a few different directions, I thought it best to post some updated current info here...
__________________________________________________ __

The car...
-1995 Camaro z28
(olympic white with pearl clear/ ebony interior)
-Oringially an LT1/4l60 car
-PW,PdL, T-tops and etc

A little history...
I snatched this car up as a rolling chassis (...well kinda...), from a guy in Newton, MA. When I purchased the car there was no motor, not trans, no rear end or suspension, and half an interior! I actually brought a rear end with me just to get the car up on the trailer, but it was WAY to good of a deal to pass up. Here are a few shots of the car when I grabbed it right around Christmas.

When I bought the car it already had a Glasstek 4" cowl hood, Wolfe 6pt roll bar, and Wolfe mini tub kit. Aside from the goodies, it also had new paint, shaved door locks, shaved antenna and tinted tails.

I wish! lol

I am shooting for 3200-3300lbs with me in it.
Turbo systems add a bunch of weight haha

I am still going to need to convert my 6pt to at least a 10pt (considering just ripping out the wolfe bar and starting from scratch with molly!)

I managed to get a little work done today. I finished up the front suspension, installed the LS1 spindles and brakes and cleaned up the wheel wells...

Made a little progress today. I put the baby wheels and tires on (which will be for sale very soon lol), and lowered the car off the stands for the first time since I got it home. Rolled her outside for some fresh air...

http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p195/bfurches/1995%20Camaro%20Z28/Springfield-20110406-00712.jpg

I need to take some up-close photos of the coil-overs...they really open up some tire room.

Also, I didnt have the truck today to grab my shortblock, however I did grab my cylinder heads...

L92 (I have the complete L92 motor), brand new LS6 valvesprings, resurfaced, ported exhaust side....nothing crazy, but they will do the trick!

Funny enough, I picked it up from the previous owner. The guy I purchased the car from was actually the "middle man," not the original owner.

The actual real owner tracked me down on ls1tech and offered it too me. I believe it is discontinued.

Thanks. The wheels are 16x8 replica zr1s. I believe they are discontinued and you only can get the 17s now.

Tires arent all that great, however they do have a little bit of life.

I was thinking 300 for the set? Missing one center cap, but no curb rash, wheels are straight and nice.

Small Update

Picked up the motor from RADs, and it is finally home where it belongs. Now I need to start cleaning up the block and get it base/cleared:

http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p195/bfurches/1995%20Camaro%20Z28/Springfield-20110408-00720.jpg

Picked up a few more parts. I grabbed a set of Wolfe chromoly lowers, and an Aeromotive A1000:

My berger panel is almost done.

Took the time to fill in the "camaro" text, and filled a few small holes.

After some sanding, hit it with a few base coats of matte black, and tomorrow I plan on shooting it with the pearl clear that my car is sprayed in (should make it look a little more sating/ semi-glossish)

I am getting really sick of this whole not having any extra time!

How much was the firebird dash if you don't mind me asking? This, was searching for a rattle in the dash and busted mine, it was very very brittle, was hardly touching it. There is sooo much flake that I am really not sure about it!
Anyways, I test fit it today and snapped a few photos. You really cant see the flake in the pics because it wasnt really sunny out, but regardless...

Had a good night and made some progress!

I opened up the rear floor pan to fit the sump of my fuel cell and I test fit again to make sure everything was still spot-on...

After I got the mock-up all squared away...I started molding the carpet in the rear. The photos don't do it justice...it looks awesome! The reason I stopped where I did is because the hinge for the bulkhead is going to take up the seam. All and all it will look pretty good with all the panels back in place.

so why the big fuel cell instead of just sumping the stock steel tank?

I am doing it for a couple reasons. First its saving me some weight. Second it opens up a ton of room to run a really big single exhaust, and with the coilovers and new tire combo...it will let me really slam the car down (probably will need to mod the tunnel to fit the torque arm).

The headers came out really nice! As mentioned previously, these were off the shelf Dougs. I cut off all the emissions junk as well as the OEM flanges. My good friend Brian was kind eough to tig the stainless v-bands on for me, as well as fill the holes where the egr garbage used to hang out. All and all he did an awesome job, and the end products look really cool. After I build the cross-over I am going to send these out to be ceramic coated.

Also got the rad back from the coater....still waiting on the fan brackets and the battery box to come back.

I hope to make some solid progress this weekend. I have been thinking of fabbing up a distributor drive...but we will see what happens ;)

priorities changed and I dont really have the money right now to finish the car the way I want to. Going to let it go and hope someone else builds it. It really is an AWESOME project with a ton of custom work. Nothing is hacked it was all thought out and fits well. Pictures tell the story
