Well today I pulled the trigger on a PC type orbital polisher from autozone. Its made a company called shurhold. Ill tell ya what its a pretty nice piece. Has all the same features as the porter cable including variable speed, a carrying bag and a 5inch velcro backing plate and 2 handles. Cost was 149.00. I also bought a 6 pack of LC pads from autogeek since its right down the way from me.

Now I've been detailing for quite some time now and have always used my makita buffer to do cars and my work has always been nice but just the little things I've noticed have always kinda drove me a little nuts. Lol. I will say this my first time using one and I am very impressed with the results it gave.

The test car was my black and blue flamed SS. Its got a very nice paint job about 4000 or so. But just like any detailer I was curious to see if it would come out better.

1. Vibrant cut 1500 compound with orange LC pad
2. Deep ebony polish with black LC pad
3. Mcguires show car glaze with blue LC pad.
4. Collonite insulator was with red LC pad.

I have a black ls2 gto to detaill tomarrow so I will have before and after pics

I am def impressed with the results. Sorry but I don't have any great pics due to sunlight but here is one.

If I could get all of my chemicals and equipment there and had a garage to do it, it could be a possibility. Not too sure but ii might be working back in florida full time again after my birthday.

Hey Justin what can you tell me about Collinite Insulator wax? I was reading up on it and it sounds great. I'm looking for a simple two step polish and wax. I was considering dropping the cash for Meguiars ultimate wax but this stuff sounds as good or better and cheaper. Looking for something durable since I don't wax very often. Thinking about that to go on after Meguiars either #7 like you used or Ultimate Polish.

Yeah the insulator wax works nice. You don't need to use a lot as it spreads nice and thin. Plus for 10 or 12 dollars you can't beat it.

Cool I'm going to try that. What's a good place to get it?

Go to autogeek.net and do a search for it. That's where I get it from but since there headquarters is only a 20min drive I just go and pick it up. And don't worry if you leave it out in the garage on a hot day it gets a little liquidity it still works fine.

Not really man. There's a reason they tell you to not wax a car with a warm surface. That's why even with a garage I tend to do my details in the morning when its cool out. Or if there is a real big shady area it can be done.

Tell ya what I will be up there to visit on June 8th through the 11th. On June 9th I wanted everone to meet up at the Westgate pub for drinks. If you want we cant talk more then or just pm me or hell you got my number give me a shout. Def wouldnt mind hooking everyone up and making there rides nice.
