Im pretty sure an a4 needs to be tuned for a gear change, from what I read. Im going from 2.73s to 3.42s. Will the car run like garbage at WOT?
Also anyone local with hp tuners or other software willing to tune me just for gear change? Hoping maybe someone local has 2000s unlocked.
thanks!

There is a lot more involved then just changing the gears in the tune. I would have don tune it and call it a day. You can burn rp the tranny if you run it like that or not having it tuned properly.

Yup tge gears will create wrong line pressures and shift points in the tranny

thanks for the info.
hopefully I can find some info online and have someone local do it. I feel for even a gear change, Don is gonna be out my price range for tuning.

Or better yet, put all those parts you got sitting in the garage on and then get it tuned!!!

street tune is within exceptable $ range and gets everything you need checked over and adjusted properly. anything more than bolt on's done to the car and get the full tune.

^^ Sez you. :sFun_crazydance: a real tune should be done on any car that has aftermarket parts/gears Especially an Auto. and im sure don will chime in and agree. and if you look he only does street tunes on trucks. i say give don a call. have him do it right. because if you dont the cost you saved by not will be spent on a tranny.

Surprises me nobody can read the print - street tunes for trucks only. This is because trucks don't like to be dyno'd over 98mph and some break driveshafts.
I'm still surprised how many people don't go for tunes. Most often doing the full tune finds big problems. A ton of people drive around with LS cars down 50+hp thinking the cars are fine because no engine lights. Just did a car last week with 20k miles.Car street tuned fine but on the dyno it valve floated big time above 3500rpm.Street tune didn't see it. Fixed the springs and gained over 100rwhp.

but, but, but....
to be honest with you I haven't read the small print since you did that for me, I still thank you for it and it still runs like a champ.
