I finally cleared the red tape to get my Thrift Savings Plan money (military 401K kinda) They still had me as active duty so i couldn't pull it all out without a penalty but got it fixed finally after a year. My current budget is $3000 but can go up a bit if needed.

Anyways I plan on adding Heads and Cam with all the other stuff and am going to beef up the frame and so on. Already did a shitload of research but I will be asking a couple questions here and there and of course posting pictures. Don't be surprised if I offer to have some of you come over to help and throw in free food/beer or whatever.

Right now I really need some input on an Oil pump and yes I've been doing research so I could eliminate the whole well why not research before asking questions shenanigans but I'm still undecided. I'm between a Melling 10295, Melling 10296 or a stock or ported LS6. I've read a shit ton about them all and simply want something that will meet or exceed what I'm doing. I don't want overkill as this build will be in the car for a few years until I can add forced induction. I've read so many pro's/con's about them all and of course a lot of bullshit about running oil pans dry(?) maybe not BS lol. Anyways at this point I'm doing a crazy amount of price shopping and getting everything down on paper to make sure I'm getting what I want and it all matches Head, cam, stall etc.

If for some reason I start buying all the parts and I don't meet budget I'll simply wait a bit longer and buy the rest but I think roughly $3000 is enough for Head/Cam plus stall and some gears. Doing everything myself with some local help.

Feel free to offer me some parts lol but My funds won't be in for a week or two though maybe I could convince the wife to let me buy them now and replace the funds when my money comes in.

And of course any input/questions are more than welcome. I would greatly appreciate any help as other than my engine swap this is the biggest project so far.

Current parts (being general)
Heads-243's maybe some port work etc
Stall 3600+/Trans cooler
Gears 3.73
Camshaft(already have hardened 7.4 PR's)springs etc
Oil Pump ???
Ls2 Timing chain
Various gaskets and longer balancer bolt/fluids etc
keeping current exhaust but adding Spintech muffler, removing blowmaster.

That should cover everything minus suspension, frame etc which I plan on adding whatever remaining funds allow. Maybe subframe connectors new LCA's etc. Honestly everyone can yell at me to replace suspension and stuff first but I see it this way I do all this performance stuff and upgrade whatever I can in suspension etc and if something breaks its the perfect excuse to upgrade it lol. My wife won't let my car just sit and we have the money that if something breaks I can replace it but I cant freely use it as I want.

Ok didnt plan on typing so much but I'm done, let the help/flaming begin. And as a sidenote this will be getting tuned at Slowhawk when its all done.

For a cam choice thinking something around 222/224 112lsa under .600 lift I don't mind street manners so much so I can sacrifice there. More interested in performance and some lope as I'm not looking for the stealth aspect lol.

Anticipating the performance gains because I hope to be in your same shoes next year but with a different car!

Yeah I'm excited to see what the end result is being it's an LQ4 and I already have some of the other required mods as in LT's and LS6 intake etc. Be assured I will be posting pics of everything along with before and after dyno sheets though there just numbers. I'll be taking it to the track after for sure but probably not before. I know I'll be over 400rwhp but going to try and get as close to 500rwhp as possible lmao. Your more than welcome to come by when the build happens. I might just pull the whole engine/trans out like I did with the engine swap as it would make everything much easier and could be a good learning experience for some plus it's really not that difficult. Hopefully I can acquire additional funds and fit in a new k-member during this build otherwise it will have to wait for the turbo build.... I wish I could just use the money in my accounts and do it all at once and then just maintain and replace as parts break lol but I'm lucky enough the wife is letting me use my tsp money so I'll make due for now.

Also my birthday is coming up so hoping to buy some new rear tires as I just bought brand new front tires and got them installed yesterday. But I'm going with 325/50R17's I don't like the 315/35 look cuz it seems like I have low profile tires and I'm just not into that look maybe on the front but not the back.

420-440rwhp is realistic. That can be a low 11 second car.

I run a stock ported(by us) LS6 oil pump on the race car.

Upgrade the converter and tranny first. That should eat up most of the budget.
