View Full Version : Never Forget 9/11
I hope you guys took some time today to make a tribute for those who put their lives on the line to try and save innocent victims of the tragedy. It's been 12 years, where were you when it happened? I was in my 1st grade class and we got sent home early.

You were in first grade and I was in gym class my senior year.
Every day I remember,
I was just leaving Portsmouth naval shipyard and heard on the radio that a plane hit the world trade center.
Now you know why I have a flag at half staff in my sig.
Its my wifes birthday aswell.

Feel old?
Nope lol
I was in 5th grade I think? Or 6th. All I remember was cops everywhere leaving school. Then watching TV. I was shocked, and my sense of security that we all grow up feeling in this country was gone.
Never Forget 9/11, and all our other invasions of security that lead to the loss of our fellow Americans. Never forget the soldiers that stood up and fought after that day for us.

I was making a few deliveries on the south coast of CT. I remember it well enough to say I never set up someone's new TV so fast so we could all see the news. Then stepped out on they're back deck over looking Long Island sound where we could see the dust cloud clear as day from about 75 miles, then again from 40 miles out on the second stop. All while waiting to get the call to get my gear together. It was after the second tower went down that I received the call to get my gear together and stand by. Less than Two years later we got the order that we were going to Iraq.

You kids LOL. I was already three years into my third job. That was scary enough as an adult, I can only imagine being in grammar school.
Geez I finished 20 yrs in the Navy in 97 and been working ever since at same job.

I was home with my newborn daughter. I watched the second plane (live) on tv as it stuck the tower. Truly, this is our Pearl Harbor.
Out of respect, every year since 9/11/01 our office is closed on that day for reflection and family time. Took my Mom to lunch and I spent a relaxing night home with the wife and kids.
