Just got a pair of wheels for cheap so i'm looking to put some good rrag racing tires on it. I'm thinking some type of Mickeys. The wheels are 17x9.5
They will be used strictly to drive to the track with and race, return home and get swapped out.
What do you guys recommend? Thanks

If it is strickly track mt et streets bias ply. Driving back and forth mt et street radial

If you plan to drive to the track on them and want to launch HARD I'd say ET Streets are your best bet. I think the Hoosier QTPs might hook a little harder but they are not made for highway use and would probably be more than you need anyway. Nitto drags might work but if you don't plan to drive on them full time than go with the ET Streets, then you'll have the extra traction if/when you add more power.

Is your clutch stock? Gear ratio?

I love my toyos TQ drag radials but sounds like your a 6 speed and might have better luck with a bias ply tire at the track.

stock clutch as far as i know and its has 4.10's
I was trapping 106-107 running 13.5-13.7 with a 2.2 60'

What are you running now just a street tire?

Nitto 555's yeah i know my 60 needs to be better i was just rolling off idle i think a 1500 rpm with a medium clutch release will get me sub 60'. I was still spinning through 1st and i didn't give it 100% throttle going into 2nd so i wouldn't spin either but i still did a little.

i was pretty happy with my trap. i saw some ls1's running mid to high 12's with a lower trap speed than me. I just need more seat time.

Trap speed will go down as 60ft and and ET go down. you will have less time essentially to gain speed. weird but i lost probably 1-2mph but gain .5 ET and .2~ 60ft respectively.

26x11.5x17 et street bias ply. A 26x9.5x16 quick time pro would be better. I'd put money on that car trapping atleast 106mph. High 12s with 1.8x 60s

"bias ply" is a type of tire construction, it is more forgiving than a radial when it comes to stick car racing.
that link is to the bias ply et streets, right choice. I recommend getting a 26x10.5x16 et street or a 26x9.5x16 Hoosier quick time pro dot. The hoosiers are stiffer and drive much nicer on the street but they have softer tread. The mickeys will last longer. Im not a huge fan of the et streets due to how soft they are, even at 30psi they sway on the street alot more than the hoosiers do. Ive street driven both, QTPs drive much better. My stiff wall ET drags drive nicer than both.

It's SCIENCE!

I think you and mike will be surprised to see his mph stay the same or increase.

Thinking about keeping those 17" rims i got as burnout rims for crappy tires and getting some 16" rims for racing... Both you and don say it will be better for me
