Actually, I'm originally a Jersey Boy, but I now live in Western Mass just outside of Springfield. Been a car guy all my life, mostly GM rides (4 vettes, 3 Chevies, 3 Pontiacs). Current ride is a '69 SS Tribute, started life as a docile X44 SBC automatic, now sports a bit more testosterone with a built 454 and a BW Super T10. Still a work in progress, but she's mainly a bucket list driver that makes me smile when I twist the key.

The "Bucket List" sounds like I'm older and yes I am. Retired, worked at Milton Bradley/Hasbro for many years in research & development. So now I'm enjoying my family, and especially taking my grandkids for a spin down to the local Dairy Queen (no eating in Poppi's Hot Rod) or pick them up from school.

So that's my story... looking forward to learning and sharing anything I can.

Mike

Welcome Mike!

Can you post a picture of your car? It sounds like a real nice 69.

Hi David... Sure, I'm going to try with my iPad, see if this works.

There's my Blue Beast... LeMans Blue/White interior, it's the color combo she was built with in Norwood.

Very nice!!! It looks like Marina Blue, but you said Lemans Blue, but it looks darker than Lemans Blue. Maybe it's the lighting though. It looks like an awesome car!

Thank you... I always liked the '69's. Marina Blue can be tricky in certain light. I always felt it was just slightly lighter than LeMans Blue, and had a slight aqua caste to it. But I've got a couple of leftover paint cans with a little paint... BASF Diamond RM Code 71 LeMans Blue LOL. She's a fun car, I love driving it, but it'll be better when I get the power disc brakes up front and quick steering box done.

Welcome, I'm in western MA too, Easthampton to be exact. That car is gorgeous. Looks like it might be lowered a little bit?

Thanks Alex...

Its just a nice driver, and yes, the front has Hotchkis 2" lowering coils, the rear, well, I guess its the "47 year settle" LOL (Monoleafs). But a lot of people have complimented me on the stance and asked what I did to lower it. The rear is basically stock, and its a 10-bolt, open-gear setup that is certainly drivable, but someday down the road I might upgrade. Maybe just a 10-bolt 8.5" Nova setup (if I can find one) and a multi-leaf pack. I have no intention of racing the car, she's basically a cruiser for me... my racing days were over years ago. Eventually I'll go to 17" or maybe 18" wheels, or maybe a staggered setup. Right now the fronts are 215/70-15 on 6" wide wheels, and the rears are 255/60-15 on 8" wheels. The wheels themselves are Wheel Vintique Chrome Rallys.

I'm down the road a piece in Longmeadow, and I'm sure we'll cross paths at local cruise-ins and shows. I usually hit Marks, Kringle Candle, Maybury, and sometimes drive out to Patriot Place once or twice a season. If this crazy snow melts by the middle of next month, I'll probably do the UMASS car show in Amherst.
