View Full Version : Rear spring upgrade / fix?
I got sagging rear springs, my car looks slammed in the rear. It looks pretty nice but I might want to put in some performance rear springs for when I swap my rear axle in to fix this. Whats a good spring to get? and should I lower it in the rear because I dont wanna have that fuckin 4x4 looking shit it looks damn good with sagging springs lol.

Eibach prokit. I dont know if LS cars springs fit LT cars but if they do than Strano is a good set but ALWAYS backordered.

Do Not Get Eibachs unless you like your car to smack the bump stops daily, there spring rate is WAYYY too low. get a set off SS springs little tighter spring rate and increased ride quality with out smacking your y pipe off of everything!!!

If you want to drop the rear about half an inch you can do the heater hose mod, remove the rear spring isolators and put some rubber heater hose on the top coil of the rear spring.

I like the stock springs. If it is too high cut 1 coil off.

big fan of stock WS6 springs, but that's me. They handle good and hook really well at the track. If you want to go lower the factory 1LE springs are a great spring too, eibach's are eh
Should I put in LCA's too? :o

Almost all springs sag a bit on this car. I have stranos and they don't sag much, but they do a little. Eibachs tend to sag a lot on the LS1 kits. LT1 prokits I've heard are better. Sportlines are too low and suprisingly also have a lower springrate for some reason.

WS6 springs were either the 1LE stiffer springs, same as stock, or the SLP package springs depending on the year and model. Here's some info I pulled from a Sam Strano post:
1993 1LE's had 1LE front springs, the 32mm front bar, STOCK rear springs and a 21mm bar, 1LE valved deCarbon shocks.
1994-1995 1LE's got 1LE front and rear springs (not stock) the 32mm front bar, but down to a 19mm rear bar, and 1LE spec deCarbon shocks.
1996-1999 1LE's got 1LE springs front and rear, 32/19 bars, Koni DA's.
No 2000 1LE.
2001-02 1LE's were taken over by SLP. They had a hollow 35mm front bar, the 21mm rear, Koni DA's. As best I can tell stock springs.
Up until about mid-2000 some time SS's and WS6's got 1LE springs, after that time they got standard springs.
Hope that helps..

I like the stock springs. If it is too high cut 1 coil off.
I was just debating this but was worried it would make it ride too stiff?
Also, about how much does 1 coil drop it?
bump for more info on that previous post^
