Hopefully your vic jr intake doesn't rust like my step dads dual plane we put on his 1970 LT1, they must have bead blasted it with some metal that rusts or something its all tarnished and already on the fuckin car...
ILuvPizzaTimes10
12-15-2009, 10:17 PM
didnt clear it before putting it on Kev-O? theres your first mistake.
84ta406
12-15-2009, 11:39 PM
Because when they blasted it they tore off the coating that stops them from rusting. Bare aluminum rusts rather quickly. Mines actaully been sprayed with a very light grey primer so it gives a nice look.

Fuel tank, sump, fuel lines are in. As well as new springs, and the Comp engineering shocks along with the 9"
TH400, SFI flexplate are in and I did the rear main seal. You guys wont believe how tight the fit was with the scatter shield.
I'll grab some pics when I get home tomorrow.
Need a feed line for the BG carb, wire in the MSD digital 6+, put the new coil in, new pads on the rear, and play with the driveshaft. Then hopefully fire it up again..

Endlinks are in, waiting on brake lines and pads to come in and then the rear is DONE.
Fabbed up my cross member for now Until I get rich and buy the UMI one. Not too shabby. I'll grab some pics once I'm done welding everything together.
Fuel lines are pretty much done, just need some mounting clips to keep everything neat.
Just need a new trans mount since the one of the 700r4 wont work and a TH400 driveshaft yoke.
get the damn thing running so we can run em!
btw everything looks good except for the BG fuel pump (they suck)youll see what im talkin about
84ta406
04-11-2010, 06:59 PM
I'm not using a BG pump, only a BG filter.

What was it? Incorrectly adjusted cable? Or just a simple fuckup?
84ta406
04-12-2010, 03:35 AM
The trans shield gets in the way of the arm moving past 3rd into 2nd. I didnt notice it before because the support brace wasnt on on that side since it bolts to the trans pan rail. Now that it's in the car and bolted together it bulges out just enough to catch the arm.
You can see the previous owner had a issue too...

At least it is something simple to fix.
84ta406
04-12-2010, 03:39 AM
Should be, gonna try to adjust the shield and maybe put a washer behind the arm to push it out more and away from the shield. Worst case I pull the shield but I dont like the idea of the big converter and brake without the shield
ok let me get this right
your displacement is 305 cubic inches?
your running a 850 CFM holley DP carb!
damn! cam or not i bet she runs rich as all hell.
I bet a 650 CFM carb would wake the car up.
I got one to try for shits and giggles if ya want someday!
my 406 is running a 850 and that is a bit fat at idle.
Bigger isnt always better ya know.
