I liked the 1st cam, the duration wasnt too bad, lift was pretty decent but not too high for stock heads and the LSA is 112 so it wont be too bad of a idle for the computer to go crazy.

yea i was thinking that 220 would be max duration for my set up so i was looking in that area

Yeah thats not too bad. My duraton is 236/248 with a .586/.562 lift so 220 isnt bad at all. The important thing with a EFI motor without tuning is to watch the LSA since too rough will cause a lot of issues. I would look for cams with a 112-115 LSA, mines 113.

alright i will keep that in mind..its my first time doing any sort of engine built so its a learning curve for me and i will most likely get a new/burned chip after

Honestly untill you can get it tuned properly by a professional i would go and dump a cam in a MAF TPI like that 10/1 youll hurt performance instead of gain. i can tune for stock delete shit and fan turn ons But as far as that goes its out of my league and i had Don(Slowhawk) tune mine. id keep it simple bump the global timing remover your AIR pump TB bypass. just little stuff will wake that right up. and if your keeping stock heads youe compression would be crap for any kind of performance cam off the shelf. Id stick to little bolt ons man honsetly. Just My 2cents.

yea i am not using the air pump anymore..it was fucked up and kept pumping too much air thru and was causing lean exhaust codes..its still there just not doing anything

my buddy has a set of 305 vortec heads but those dont help with compression either right?

and when would it be worth having a tune by slowhawk and what would i gain from that?

Thats sumthing you would have to ask him if he will do. he did mine because it was an LT1 i dunno if he will dive into a TPI. 305 vortec will work Great But then you have to get a new lower intkae it wont just bolt on and those are Very Pricey.

yea i have done all the research on it the base is like just under $500 but on top of the heads and intake i have to get the gaskets new bolts valve covers etc etc. and then put like a lt1 cam or something close to it...it will be alot of money for maybe 60 hp?

i wouldnt do a 350 with TPI. chokes at 4500rpm. im telling you for good seat of the pant feel and fun with not alot of money spent PM SLP IROC. Joe knows those cars inside and out. and know all the little tricks. stock heads cam intake on his 305 tpi 5 speed he got a 13.8 out of it at i think mid 90's MPH thats Great numers for an out of the box 200hp car!!
