^even if the numbers are inflated, and they are using some racing gas. Its pretty impressive it held up to that amount of boost. I dont see some 500 dollar dodge, ford, honda motor doing it.

If this ls1 ever takes a crap, lq9 or lm7 will be going in for sure, you'd have to be stupid not too.

Obviously not something you see everyday or you drive every day and make hundreds of passes. Its still impressive when you can make that kinda power where the cheapest thing in the car is the motor. you could sell that 102 and buy 2 lm7s and run a ls6 intake.

It wouldnt matter if it made 700hp its still awesome to see a pile of shit come out of a junk yard and make great hp. We arent talking fords here boys no need to put it down!

don has a point there is a huge difference between real life and a engine dyno no shock load no spikes all that stuff ya it made the power but like he said would not hold to shit sort of like a auto vs a stick shift car on rear end parts.

I'll still take it without question

The motors take power, nothing new. I also beleive there numbers are inflated big time.

5.3's or 4.8's taking alot of boost is not very new. Some of you guy's have seen the Avalanches we've built running 16-18lbs of boost from a blower. One has 2 years on it and the other is nearing 5 years. The red truck on my site use to have a 4.8L running 20lbs of boost from a turbo back in 04. Made about 3 track passes before melting down the rings/pistons.

Still pretty cool you could put 20lbs to it in the first place and run down the track. I'm not sure I would wanna toss 20lbs on my lt1 lol

Just hope the first pass is a successful one(if it goes 9s once with a 300dollar block who cares, snag another and build it). I showed a couple people the video, they though it was bad ass. I think you're just looking past the point of the video and being to crucial and negative, but its a forum so w.e. lighten up ppl :lol2-1:

You guys have no clue do you? Have u seen an engine blow even worst blow at 135+ mph? Oil on tires track etc... 500 dollar block turns into totaled car or death of you! Not to mention what it takes in $ to have a legal 9 second chassis! You guys are wacked

ILuvPizzaTimes10 01-11-2012 11:32 PM

hey they've all gotta learn sometime! Whether its the hard way or not. I'm still impressed with sams 6.0!!

Slowhawk 01-11-2012 11:46 PM

Pretty much what 84 said. Cool untill you see how the motor blows and oils the tires at 130+mph.

Going 9's on a stock shortblock is not a problem with the right setup.
