swap meet for me = craigslist :klab: |
The swap meet strikes me as something from a bygone era, those of us with newer cars grew up with ebay and craigslist

I still had a good time checking out car parts, picking out a couple Camaro books, letting Alex pick out his favorite die-cast model, talking with Thom SanSoucie again and meeting Don Sawyer. Don Sawyer draws a lot of diners. He was real nice and a talkative guy. I bought one of the Olympia diner: http://www.porterhousecrafts.com/med...rge/DDS-OD.jpg From Thom, I bought some of his black and white prints like this one: http://www.hossrods.com/media/catalo...w/rw-ss211.jpg |
Cool stuff. Of course because of how we're used to shopping for car parts us younger guys don't have the experience of going to stuff like this.

Don Sawyer has a big list of diners in the New England area that he draws. If there is any on his list that are on the Quabbin Cruise route, maybe we could get some pictures of older and newer F-bodies at the diner? http://www.dinerdon.com/listofdiners/index.html |
Yeah but one thing well never have or at least me, those days like in the drawings. old school diners with a parking lot full of 60s and 70s muscl cars, drive ins, performance shops. Pics my step dad shows me of the performance shops and stuff in my area is badass its now Honda shops in lawrence : l

So you're thinking there's probably no diners along the Quabbin cruise route?
I know the Olympia diner in Newington is still there. http://historicbuildingsct.com/wp-co...mpia-diner.jpg |
