take the one's you have off (with care) and buff the crap out of the spot. it won't be that noticeable. yeah the body has some miles on it, but it's only 12yrs old...
paint under the sticky tape should be just fine. if it was lighter color and 15+yrs then I'd say wet sand and polish the shit out of it or just leave em' on.

If you like them then go for it. I've been contemplating firehawk decals for my third gen :) Its fun to confuse people sometimes.

i guess. i think i put more heart and soul into this car then i ever did in the T/A. who knows. i love my car now BUT sometimes i get sentimental.
