Looks awesome. The under body was never factory painted? Is the oil filter OEM white or are they ac delco blue?

Is the hood a functional air induction hood? Too bad you didn't have the era battery for it.

Thanks Frank!!!

There is a lot of debate on the underbody color. The problem is there was gray primer applied by hand some cars got a lot of gray primer and some got none. The judges expect 30% gloss black (I think it's 30%, but definitely black). I decided to have it painted to what I believe was there originally. Lots of gray primer.

Originally the filters were a white PF25. I think at some point in 1969 they changed to or from a white PF29. I have a reproduction PF25 on there right now. An original 44 year old one would deteriorate rapidly and would probably not be very good for the engine.

No, it originally had a flat hood. Cowl induction came out half way through 1969 and this car was made too early to have a cowl hood. The original flat hood is on it right now.

The battery on the car right now is a Y55. It is an original battery and it took me about a year to find one. I have a post on 69 Z/28 batteries here: http://www.z28.net/2012/07/12/y-55-delco-battery/

Also, the DZ302 shown in post #309 is not my engine. It's from one of the main guys in the Camaro Research Group - JohnZ. I was using his engine as an example for Jeff68 to see if my heat riser is on wrong.

The car is in my trailer and we're leaving at 6 am tomorrow!

David-
Every heat riser I've seen has had the weight on the outboard side, and that's the way mine was originally. Definitely ask one of the 'experts' when you get there and it's a 15 minute change if you need to change it. Let us know what you find out.

Have fun!!!!

Best looking car there!

Is that another Green Car right in front? I was thinking the color was on the rare side and would help at least draw some additional attention?

Looking Good!!!

Good Luck!!
