You have to get them realllyyyy hot. But then again I speak from using them at ned. With track bite. So on the street wich is basically what your racing on I don't know. I still say get em super hot and see what happens. And ride the clutch don't hit the tires.

Yeah I get my 28 inch nittos to dead hook from a 10 mph roll on the street with a 150 hit now. I will find out in a few hours how they hook at the track.

It's much worse than the street. And I basically have to turn my steering wheel 90 degrees to the left to overcome the slide to the left.. down the bank basically.

My tires are like 4 years old though too.. I'll get new ones next year.

You actually don't want the nittos too hot or they get oily i'd say a nice 4-5 second burnout for nitto's worjs best

ILuvPizzaTimes10 09-22-2011 01:24 AM

really? ive always heard and had better luck wen they were SUPER Hot. like 10 seconds of smoke hot. and ive still only cut a 1.9 with them......

My84Z 09-22-2011 02:39 AM

They say when you get them brand new do a good burnout like 15-20 then use them regularly and do a 5 second burner before launch. Has always worked for me when i had them when i use to daily my car

maybe thats why they suck for me?

From what I read the first heat cycle and burn out are super important.

I had my Nitto DRs heat cycled when I bought them and get great traction even without heating them up.
