Saw a picture of a set of stock rims painted flat/semi gloss black and it made them look really good.....I think ill be doing that to mine as well...cause they look like crap now, and ill have another set of rims off the doner car I'm getting. So if they look bad, then no split milk.

Klab wanna sand blast some rims for me :) :wookie:

Pictures of my car and the donor car. First 4 are mine, third picture shows the damage of when the previous owned when curb hopping, and 4th shows the rust before the gas door.
Some mild paint dmg on the hood, gonna grab some touch up paint. Doors are crank windows and will be replacing my heavy power doors.

for 400 bucks it was a steal, car has rust on it so after i strip it it will get junked, but for matching color bumper hood and fenders, and some other odds and ends it was worth it.

Oh and new wheels, i think they look much better then my stockers, i just have to make sure my tires will fit

Donor car has 235 55 16
My car has 245 50 16

Should work right?

I mean putting my 245s on the rims that have the 235 on them currently.

LS1 AirBox

Just a few quick pics of my ls1 airlid mod. I had to cut a small notch in the upper frame rail. I''ll have pics of that added when i move my rad.

Hood was junk, just wanted to make it work on that day. Sheet metal was to thin, and was bending.

I don't need to move the rad much, and if you had a cowl hood you wouldn't need to clearance much if at all.

You can see where i tried to make it seal using some nylon rope and foam gasket stuff cause the sheet metal was bending, bad planning on my part. Thicker sheet metal will fix the problem.

Shows how far the run is into the tb. around 6 inches from back the lid

Shows how much i need to move the rad to make it clear a stock hood. not much.

you do know a real LS1 non ram air rad support will sit lower then that right? it still bumps the hood. but Not as bad as that. what are your plans for moving the "air box" down? if it were me and you were adament about down a from mount cold air and Not going cowl hood id get a "vette" front pipe.

I've looked at pics of the rad support, I don't see how it will sit any lower, the lids bolted to my upper frame rail, same place the ls1 rad support would be.

All i need to do is drop the back end of the lid down the couple inches. I'm gonna drop the rad down and inch or so and move the base of the rad to the front of the car about an inch, so i can get the rad sat down at a little bit more of an angle, and drop the height needed to clear a stock hood.

If you have a free cowl hood laying around ill take it and not cut anything but, stock hood is what i got, so Im gonna make it work. lol

Also the vette front pipe will require another air filter, and then the cuppling. Already have my ls1lid and k&n knock off.

But remember pizza, i did this is about 2 hours, with no real planning lol I ran out of time R&Ding and slapped it together cause it was my DD at the time.

And yea, the parts arnt 100% but ill just touch it up with some touch up paint and you wont notice unless you really nit pick my car, and youll find A LOT wrong if you do that lol
