Quabbin Reservoir Cruise

The idea is to do a cruise that goes around the Quabbin Reservoir via some nice scenic back roads. We would start by meeting at Big Y supermarket in Palmer, MA, right off Exit 8 on the Mass Pike, ideally at noon. From there we would take RT 32 north to the town of Ware and pick up RT 32A and follow that up the east side of the Quabbin to Petersham. Then pick up RT 122 to Orange, then a little ways up RT 202 north to hit up some go karts. Then RT 202 south down the west side of the Quabbin to Belchertown, where we pick up RT 9 east heading back towards Ware. About half way back to Ware we will stop to head up to a lookout tower with a great view of the Reservoir. There is also a nice big parking lot where we could take some pictures. Total length of the cruise is ~77 miles round trip.

Great cruise idea. Me thinks the should be the first meet after everything thaws.
That way everyone is itching for a drive, therefore a better turnout!

Love you like always and like i sed This is our first official meet and i say early May. april is always hit or miss and id hate to keep posponing it for rain and shit. Plus asking for time off at work has to be a Set thing i dont have too many chances in a row for a sat. off If thats wen we do it.

There are gas stations in Orange which is roughly the halfway point.

And April will definitely be too early, the trees won't even have leaves until early May. It doesn't have to be the first meet of the year, we can have meets year round without the cars, this could be the first actual cruise.

Sounds liek a good opener all i need is it on a sunday and I should be able to make it.

it will be a sunday. it will in a Far advance so that time off work may be possible. everytime we have had a Saturday meet we get a shit turn out. including myself alot have to work.

Im gunna say a final date of May 8th? and rain date the 15th?

the date isnt set in stone John. and yes i was going to revive this bastard after our next meet. i didnt want to do it too early shit tends to lose its luster quickly around here. But i was planning Arounddd that date. depending on wen i can get a weekend off will also be depending cuz well god dammit i want to be there!!!! So lets talk dates finalize it and GET-R-DONE!!

yup over 2 hours each way and a bit over an hour for the cruis

its not just gunna be the cruise. i want to stop somewere get some food. go carts i think are still there?!? Alex?? and have a decent photo shoot. BADGER!!!!!

Last time I drove by that place it was still there. It's called 202 Entertainment. I will call them when the date gets closer and find out when the go karts open for the season. There is also a little food stand either in the same lot or right next door.

i live in east brookfield all i have to do is drive down rt9 alittle ways and meet you guys in ware.
