o2 connectors?
Anybody know anyplace i can get o2 connectors? My front drivers side connector fell and burned right through on my headers. I just need the wire connector that connects from the engine to the open connector on the 02. Gm gave me a part # of 12191286 and told me they dont sell this part at all and look online. Ive been driving it the last 5 days and just noticed it today. But my check engine light did not come on. Would it hurt to drive on it since i just had it recently tuned?

You may want to get 02 Sensor Extensions as well, to keep the wires a little further from the exhaust..

I might end up needing the whole harness bc it melted through the wires and half of the pin connector is gone. I have extensions already but they are long enough already. Guess i gotta make a new ebay account since i dont have one anymore.

What ebay guys sell the stand alone harnesses? I cant seem to find the ebay store or any o2 harnesses that will fit my car. |
I found an extra o2 extension. Should i try to splice it in. The harness is pretty ruined from being fried and dragged on the ground. Hope its not messed up.

I dont get how ur not throwing a code when its like that lol u could try cuttin out the bad wires and solder and shrink wrap the new ones in just make sure u inspect the whole harness all the way up first and make sure everything is covered so it wont burn thru again...Happened with my car when i tore open some of the wires on the extension over a curb(f u randolph dunks drivethru lol) and did the same thing i just said and i havent had an issue since but mine also threw a code right away.

I dont know how im not throwing a code. Im prob gonna give Don a call next week to see what he says. |
if its melted and still making a connection and not shorted it wont throw a code.

Its completely separated with no connection. Im gonna throw a jack under there to see what the problem is. Maybe ill take some pics, prob would help.

Sounds like you just need to cut the wires back where to where they are intact, get an extra extension and splice the ends onto the ends of the fresh wires. You may need an extra extension to replace the missing length of wire you cut out/shredded.
Shouldn't be too difficult IIRC it's three wires. THEN I would also suggest a second extension to move the wires away from the exhaust, or it's already long enough, make sure to tie them back so you don't run into this problem again. |
Im lucky the only piece that burned was another extension so i just took my leftover one i had and popped it on but i used some metal wires to hold it against the body.
