if u think ur LT1 is slow then maybe u should learn a little more about ur car first.

yeah man haha if Fast is all your after. your car is HARDLY slow. and with WAY less invested then buying another car and modding it you could build yours up a bit and have a Truly fast car. LTs get a bad rapp ONLY because the LSWon came out. if it hadnt the engine itself is bullet proof. and people would still be building them.... Ohh wait they are. i still hate them and wish they would ALLLL DIE. But its not the ENGINE if your sick of the car fine but dont blame how fast it is.

I would agree that if you want an LSX just because you want a faster car you will probably be disappointed. I drove and LS2 GTO and it doesn't feel much faster than my car, even though it's .7 faster in the quarter than mine. I think you would enjoy a good converter way more than the extra horsepower. It's easy to get jaded on the internet. 300 horsepower is still a lot in the real world.

I despise my automatic, and from what I've seen and read h/c lt1 vs h/c ls1 lt1 makes like 100 less hp.. Don't make this and ltx vs lsx thread.. And gtos might not be much faster might be heavier and might have an IRS and aren't able to fit wide tires cause of small inner fender.. But it's what I like have always liked them.. What really want is a turbo lq9 6 spd with a 9inch rear end with 700hp b/c I have hp issues.. But that's probably about ten thousand away and I'd rather just buy one that is all done already with h/c and what not, and it's also easier to get an auto loan than a personal loan for me to actually build my car

never made it into a LT1 vs LS1 argument. Maybe should have made a wiser first purchase if u hate ur auto so much. Just make sure ur smarter on your second then. Dont settle for a car cuz its the only one for sale at the time. Make sure its something that your gonna love and not care about the payments with.

The only reason I got my Camaro is because I didnt have a car and my dad was selling it... He then cosigned a loan for me so I could buy the Camaro off of him.. At the time I didn't care it was auto.. I had a car, Dont get me wrong I love my car, just time to move on, my credit score is better now so I can afford another car, I can actually keep my car and get another far for like 11k, but I don't want the Camaro as a daily too much gas, I spend 420 a month on gas bow but I'm buying a 94 VW jetta beater for a daily from a guy from work for 200 93k needs inner tie rods, starter and alignment.. Be spendin half as much on gas.. But anyway.. Yea I want a 6spd and it's easier to buy one then to swap one Into my car..

for the money you want to spend you will be better off getting a BONE stock 99-02 for about 5-6k then pay don to do heads cam tune bolt ons and rear for the other 5-6 it will be about the same money and you will know that it has been done right and not beat to shit

I've seen all those not bad just really far away.. That Z06 was beat to all hell lol
And if I bought a 5k or 6k ls series car.. I'd have to take out a loan for about 11k and have to make the check out to whoever I buy the car off of, they have to give me the rest of the money back.. But I don't trust someone enough for that |
A hc ls1 wont make 100 more hp then a proper hc lt1.. both motors have there down falls but a ton of people choose wrong shit for lt1s thinking there special..its just a gen 1 350 with reverse flow..u have head cam Ls making 550 just look at all the articles of reg 350s doing the same
Ill take a built auto over a stick car anyday..an built auto with mvb is just like a stick but with out a clutch..lots of fun..driving a man around can get boring an be a pain in the ass with stop an go traffic |

While I agree a H/C LS1 may make close to 100HP more then a H/C LT1 you should know the difference in the way 450HP feels compared to 550Hp won't be nearly as obvious as the jump from 300 to the 450. At some point all that HP becomes useless to u unless you go to the track. To Be honest with you the absolute Happiest I was with the way my car ran was when i just had the teeny tiny GMPP LS1 hotcam in it. Sure it was wicked fast with the new engine but also harder to drive and caused alot more wear and tear on the drivetrain. Also not to mention that with a $400 cam I got to 11.7 in the 1/4 and after that it cost an additional $10K to get to 11.0 and have a reliable car that didn't self destruct every day. If I did it again there is no way I would go for such high power #'s on a street car, it would be less or I'd build a dedicated track car. I'd get a nice H/C setup for your car, maybe refresh the bottom end, a good stall and some suspension parts and you'll be shocked what you end up with.

Can't do the automatic...I like myself a manual, and I would love to have 700hp haha but that's useless, a mid-high 11 sec car is pretty much my goal while it being a 6spd and has a/c and if it's a f-body, preferably t-tops

Yeah, you really gotta ask yourself why you want that much power, other than just to say "I have XXX rwhp". Honestly, 400 rwhp is a LOT. It gets harder and harder to actually use more power.

tires do not make the diff..dont ever think that is what makes a diff..you could tub the shit out of it and run some damn 15x30's and still get in trouble with it..

Ok residential expert since you have had an f body at 500 hp lol we are talking about f bodies and yes tires make a huge difference. Tgis isn't a discussion about a 200 whp civic or vw that is uncontrolable on the street. Please atleast make your comments relavent to the convo. Also have sone first hand experience befire telling me i am wrong.

I know my car was a handful and didn't have 500 at the wheels. what it did have was a butload of low RPM torque.

So how much first hand would you like..An if you read my shit i said to each there own..just giving the kid a heads up on how shit is an how fast shit can go south and what to expect with a car of the 500rwhp level. My car makes 370 rwhp i drive it all the time and it's like driving a civic everyday on spray it makes 450+ and i used it plenty not a handful or a big deal even drove through winter. Don drives 600+ hp cars daily on street winter etc.... With dr's my car will not spin on a roll unless on the jug and that is in 2nd or 1st tires make a huge difference. But whatever i won't argue with you but i did it do it and will continue so i guess i am wrong though lol
