Split screen monitors on one bigass?

What are you guises opinions on this? I have a 19" widescreen monitor now but yeah, it reached its limit. I need more screen area, I have a 32" tv but that is only for movies really. So I'm thinking get another 19" and do a split screen or give this to my brother and get one bigass like 23" or something. We have 23" Dell's at school and I'm just like wow I need more screen! OR keep my 19" AND do a split screen with a 23" hahaha. big and small...

ILuvPizzaTimes10 11-18-2011 05:40 AM

doing split screens on a small screen just allows you to open more crap. but a BIGGEr single screen aloows you to utilize More area Per application. for say cad/solid works. id say one big one for now. then wen you get back into Gaming. get a radeon EYEFinity Setup and run 3!!!!!!!! Yes 3 monitors not just widening the picture. as to stretch it across 3 screen but to actually attain More Field Of View!!! YESSSSSS

Hell yeah Man!!!!! Ill Buy one off yah!!!! widescreen right?

ZFreie 11-18-2011 04:03 PM

I have a 22inch monitor, its farking huge. Its almost so big you cant get far enough away from it when sitting at a desk. When playing some games where i have to watch lots of different things I find my self turning my head to look from one side of the screen to ther other lol

Any bigger then 22 and your gonna need to sit several feet away. Also, I had my computer hooked up through my TV which was a 42 inch at the time, and sitting on the couch 4 feet away with it in 1080 and no one could read any writing on screen lol I had to lower the rez when going through computer to read it lol Games looked awesome tho, the font is bigger in games so it wasnt an issue to read, just on the desktop and the internet were hard to see.

my desktop has a 55" monitor... lol

Unfortunate I'm over 2hrs away and I'm working this weekend. Let get a hold of my buddy and see what he's get and ill post up what I get from him. Sometimes I can get some computers from him too. I'm not much up on computers so ill find out what he has. Most of the time he just gives me this stuff and if its anything you or anybody else wants you can have it.

KLAB 11-19-2011 05:05 PM

I'd take one or two!! LOL and mike with the 3 screen setup do you mean to have TWO split screen monitors and my TV hooked up to it? Because I use split screen now with my monitor and tv, I drag videos over to the TV to watch movies :3

ILuvPizzaTimes10 11-19-2011 06:34 PM

no i mean 3 widescreen monitors!

KLAB 11-19-2011 06:37 PM

Klab, here is a picture of my 22' widescreen on my desk with my speakers and keyboard visiable so you can see its size. After having a 22 widescreen anything else is just to small, youll never care about having to much desktop space. lol Id never ever go back to a non wide screen, nvm mind smaller then 22.

fyi, this monitor is the first monitor i got when i bought my gaming rig like 4+ years ago. 1000s and 1000s of hours of use, and its just now starting to lost some of its vibrancy and brightness.

Its a chimei brand which isnt exactly the best out there. Food for thought

Just make sure it has a fast response time. 5ms is what mine is and its a negligible amount of lag for causal gaming.

ILuvPizzaTimes10 11-24-2011 08:39 PM

Dont Buy ACER!!!! there LED backlight turns things that should be blue a hint of purple.spent Hours on the phone with there support. didnt fix it. went to go exchange it as they sed it was broken. so i went to go look for a new one. and they had a samsung led, LG Led, and An Acer. all 20". the acer AND Sumsung side by side looked visably PURPLE wen the LG looked a Vibrant Blue! the color it should have been. so i say for LED steer clear of samsung and Acer flat panels!!!!

ZFreie 11-24-2011 09:05 PM

I say avoid LEDs all together till they have been out longer and have worked out the kinks and prices go down. Energy consumption is the biggest advantage to leds, and theoretical longevity.

ILuvPizzaTimes10 11-24-2011 11:53 PM

my LG LED Is incredible!!! 20" 1600x900 res 2mil contrast ratio 4ms response. for 109.99?????? no brainer!!!

ZFreie 11-25-2011 12:07 AM

Hmm, i might get one then in the future. Do they make them bigger then 20?

ILuvPizzaTimes10 11-25-2011 02:11 PM

yeah they make 23" as well and its just too big for my desk/setup/ budget.

ZFreie 11-25-2011 02:47 PM

6 foot plastic desk lol my mouse pad is...48"x18" i think lol

ILuvPizzaTimes10 11-25-2011 02:52 PM
