Anyone identify an SS hood??

So I found this SS hood on craigslist in my town. It was advertised as a carbon fiber (its really fiberglass) ss hood. I asked what kind he doesn't know it came with the car he said shoot me an offer. Sounds like he doesn't know much... Heres the pics he sent me anyone know any info??

umm where are the pics? lol

KLAB 01-27-2012 04:52 AM

oops fixed

frankzlt1 01-27-2012 11:48 AM

the pictures don't look bad. i don't remember what the underside of my hood looks like to compare with. youll need to look at it in person witch shouldnt be to hard for you because its local. the only thing is the fit. i dont know if theres a way to take any measurements to see what youll have for gaps all round the fenders and nose. what is he asking for it.

frankzlt1 01-27-2012 11:51 AM

the next thing you need to get now is the ss emblems. witch you still can get from gm by useing the 02 year. there a little pricey but i wanted factory for my car from my last summer misshape lol.

c4boom 01-27-2012 12:04 PM

the way i look at it putting on the ss hood is one thing putting all the gear on then the emblems is a bit much. sort of like a chick that has had alot of makup done just isnt the same as the real thing.

941LE 01-27-2012 12:38 PM

SLP IROC-Z 01-27-2012 01:10 PM

It looks to me that its functional with the cut out.

ILuvPizzaTimes10 01-27-2012 07:39 PM

Hard to tell with aftermarket as they take an original off the car make a negative mold and recast new parts from it. Problem with that is quality control. How well they apply the 2 halfs thickness of the fiberglass etc. One kind of good way to tell is the slp hoods were almost as heavy as stock steel hoods. Had to be for crash regulations. See if it weighs a ton. If not is aftermarket.

KLAB 01-28-2012 12:44 AM

Naw I don't wanna do the ss badges. Not trying to make a clone its still a z but gotta have those as parts... they make a camaro.

I'm pretty sure its aftermarket because the underside of an slp hood looks different I think? But im tyig to figure out what aftermarket one it is. Ill go check it out who knows maybe hell take 200 then I wont care how it fit hah

My84Z 01-28-2012 12:59 AM

What fucking difference does it make go see the hood if the fit is good And quality is good buy it. Stop being a retard. it's 300 bucks jesus

KLAB 01-28-2012 01:16 AM

How am I gonna know how it fits off the car with no car to test it on jackass???? Worth the post to see if anyone says "oh that's a blabla hood those fit well" yeah..

My84Z 01-28-2012 01:19 AM

You can't make that assumption about any aftermarket hood. Drive your fucking car over with no hood and put it on or are u buying this for a car you don't have?

frankzlt1 01-28-2012 01:33 AM

If its original it will have the made in Canada mark on it.

It seems pretty good condition?? I just need a grill for the scoop since the edging is a lil rough around there and also the side edges filled and sanded a lil better i dont like the way it overlaps :P

So I dont think it was red I think its still an unpainted hood....

:klab: now coat it in silver with a reverse black manta haha like so:

Formula413 02-03-2012 11:07 PM

I dunno about that paint scheme...

Also, I always thought it would be cool to have the scoop light up, put a bulb back there somewhere and tie it into the parking lights
