Yea the thing that bothers me is these guys were legend man. They made cars what they are today. Who's gonna be the legends now? Jesse James? Chip foose? It's all abou money now man. These guys had passion. Now we have retards. BAAaaaa

Kalstar 05-13-2012 03:58 AM

Every generation has their legends, We still have John Force, Roush, Callaway and even though mixed bag on his rep... Hennessey. Carol was a man that deserves respect, but his reputation both good and bad was well deserved. He was a true prioneer and I for one thank him for not only traveling the road less traveled but blazing his own trail. God speed.

smokinss 05-13-2012 06:14 PM

Def a sad day. He made a lot of contributions to the auto world.

But we do have one legend. SLOWHAWK!!! Haha.

Formula413 05-13-2012 08:57 PM

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Slowhawk edition Camaros raking in big bucks at auctions in thirty years.

And vettes and trucks lol

DemonWithin99 05-14-2012 03:55 AM

yeah I'd say Roush keeps the Ford guys happy. Until the next generation comes to the game

BigMac76 05-15-2012 02:05 AM

I agree with kosta, not many guys out there left that are automotive icons man. All the legends are slowly fading. Now it's all about how big you can get the rims on your car, or how many tv's you can stuff in it blah blah blah bling my ride bullshit. What ever happened to the real performance guru's who lead the way for all of us years down the road. Def a sad day indeed and rip carroll, you'll definitely be missed. A true legend...

Formula413 05-15-2012 02:11 AM

Those guys are still out there, they're just not celebrities anymore. You can see their handiwork at the drag strip every weekend.

This is true. But they'll never me recognized for their ass kicking performance abilities... We're talking icons and legends. There are always the guys who are quietly and locally recognized.

BigMac76 05-16-2012 06:58 PM

True, racing legends like "Big Daddy" Don Garlits, Richard Petty, Carroll Shelby. Performance guru's like Don Yenko, John Lingenfelter, Dick Harrell
and Bill Thomas (Nickey Camaro), Joe "Dr Oldsmobile" Mondello, Boyd Coddington, just to name a few. True legends when it comes to performance and racing legends. You don't see or hear anything about these types of guys any more. It's all about the Chip Foose, Xhibit (Pimp My Ride), or Jesse James type guys.
Guess I'm just an old gearhead looking for the days of old...lol

ILuvPizzaTimes10 05-17-2012 02:22 AM
