How would you feel?

To see this in a new motor build with less than 300miles?
|
Weight reduction? LOL Any idea what happened? Detonating or lean maybe?
|
I'd be throwing that shit across my garage
|
Looks wicked lean or a bad nitrous tune up. Ive pulled some burnt up nitrous pistons like that, usually too rich of jetting. Was it a boosted car or something?
|
Pretty much mistake from another shop. Car blew a forged motor a month or 2 ago. Burnt 3 pistons. They built a new shortblock but failed to see the heads had damage. The swirl bumps were burnt up next to the plug on 3 cylinders. Add too hot of a plug and it just destroys another motor.
Car runs 17 lbs of boost from a magnacharger and a 125 shot. Car has not been sprayed yet on this motor. We think the motor was hurt on the shops dyno since his first run was slower than his normal. |
Ouch!

I assume this is from that so called big name shop in CT?

Yes sir. The already damaged heads caused this issue. Poor kid paid $15k for them to just do the shortblock.
You can see the aluminum melted next to the plug hole. 3 cylinders have this, same 3 that melted on his last motor. |
I read the whole thing on C5.com running a ZR1plug on a boosted/nitrous setup is ridiculous. I thought my used motor going bang was bad. Its no good for both parties involved. I know you will get straight.

Really? I thought those guys were solid. I was thinking the shop that messed up Bayer's car.
|
You guy's have no idea what we see here.
Bayers shop- We get a ton of retunes. Waterbury- Lots of retuning. There prices are stupid high on installs. |
Seems like a lot your work is fixing other shops mistakes.
|
We are not the best by any means but I've seen some f'd up shit.
