I have been to Strasbourg and the countryside was beautiful. Edit....it looks like the car is from France, but you are in CT? |

I live in Trumbull, CT
I found my 69 on the Teamcamaro.net site. I bought it from a Guy in Meriden, CT who was selling it for the Widow, of the Owner who came to the USA on a work visa from France. He was here with his Family and got Cancer and passed away. He brought the Camaro from France and was building it for some kind of Racing, some of it I had to undo. That was September of 1999 when I bought it, it became a "Back Burner Restoration" - Did not touch it for about 13 Years, I finally decided to get going on it Before it became a "Tribute" car to my Son's Dad ! Took about 3 years Complete, on the Rotisserie for about 15 Months. And I did read an article in Hot Rod about a guy in Maine that had a 69 from, I thought it was Taiwan/ Singapore, Same Options as mine and Factory A/C. Like when you could buy an Opel GT or Capri from Mercury type of thing, only our Cars Overseas. Timmy |
Looks great, love the stance!

Nice car! Was it built last week in November or first week of December?

Thanks My Car was built, I am guessing but did the math on the Calculator, the Last week of November. 1,722 from the Last VIN # built in November, Mine is 550140. Info from Build list is 551862 was last built of that Month. Timmy |
Timmy,
Can you post a picture of the trim tag? It should look something like this: http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.p...ch=12466;image |
Awesome! Lets see some pics of the car! Big block 69's are soooooo cool!

Hi David
I do not have a Trim Tag, I only have the General Motors (France) Ident VIN # tag on the Right side of the Firewall. The article I read about the other 69 from Taiwan when I talked to the owner said he also did not have the "Trim Tag" on his Firewall near the Brake Booster. The Original Color was Olympic Gold, I found it on a Crunched part of the Lower Cowl area pinched by a Jack or something. Timmy |
Nice, I see that it is an original RS due to the 1 inch hole by the brake booster (3rd pic). Ya still have the original 605 wiper motor and headlight washer setup? a Norwood built car should have had a trim tag even for export. It may not have the General motors corm stamping on the bottom though. If it is not there somebody may have removed it. there may be 2 small holes just above the booster where it was. It still has the cool factor of the export tag. I have never seen a KPH speedo in the 28+ years of being into 69's

I have no idea why someone would remove it. If it was during restoration, the restorer really should not have taken it off. |

I did look thru the Firewall/ Cowl area and can see the Bondo "squeeze thru" where the Trim Tag Rivets were, what can I say other than it is Gone, I do have the French Title, it's in French ! Had Absolutely No issues Registering it here in CT, The Girl only asked me if it was not Registered in CT, not the USA !!! I told everyone at work I think I could have Registered a Unicycle from Spain with no Brake lights or Turn Signals, they only want your $$ My Vin # Stamped in the top middle of the Cowl and by the Heater Blower Motor match to my N550140. I borrowed a 396 Block and Heads to Proof my Headers and Rear Crossmember I made from the TH400 one I bought from Ground up for like $ 55.00 I also found with the BB Offset to the Right and the 700R4 Trans, I had to "pound" out the Floor Tin for some clearance for the Servo on the R/H side of the Case. Timmy |
Nice! I see the headlight washer solenoid on the wiper motor. Extremely HTF! True RS. What headers? Looks like Super comps 2205's? How do they fit?
Merry Christmas Scott |

Yes, My 69 is a True SS/ RS, many Details on both sides, Confirm what it is without the "Trim Tag" or Protect-0-Plate. I ordered a set of Doug's D320-R, like the Hooker 2205's where the # 5 goes over # 7 but the Doug's are a bit nicer/ heaver Constructed and the Collector Bolt Flange has the single bolt of 3 at the Top, 12 O’clock position. I do not like the Collector Reducer Bolt at the 6 O’clock position on any of the Headers. Ordered them in Bare Steel in case I had to "Tweak" anything for my Install before sending them out to Jet Hot for Powder Coat. They Fit my 427 BB with Stock, Cast Iron GM Heads, Trans and (IROC P/S Box). Timmy |
Timmy...
I saw your car last Fall at Marks Camaro Night. Did a double take when I saw that VIN Tag on the firewall! Very nice car, and it's a helluva great story too. I'm up in Mass just over the line in Longmeadow, usually hit Marks quite a bit. Mike |
