or google HP DV6-1355dx.

great deal on this thing. fast, 500g memory, 4gb ram upgradeable to 8gb ram, core duo2 2.2ghz, windows 7 (64bit), and a kick ass 15.6" LED w/intel GMA 4500MHD. excellent picture. and all the software you need. comes with norton, and windows office (works)

KLAB 02-08-2010 07:42 PM

Wow I just might go buy that tonight!!!

KLAB 02-09-2010 03:41 AM

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Toshiba+...&skuId=9705203

That would prob run my 3d program better!!! lol

ILuvPizzaTimes10 02-09-2010 06:33 AM

toshibas are nice!!

DemonWithin99 02-09-2010 07:22 AM

HP's are nicer.

ILuvPizzaTimes10 02-09-2010 07:44 AM

yes and no. i dont like all the extra shit you Dont need HP puts on them that runs in the background and eats up system resources that are already taking a dump from running Vista/7

c4boom 02-09-2010 03:12 PM

7 kicks ass compared to vista vista Is the 2nd biggest POS ever ME is the first

KLAB 02-09-2010 03:19 PM

I was told I'll need 512mb at least of dedicated video memory to be able to run my autocad in 3d... So thats why I'm stepping it up a level. :c

DemonWithin99 02-09-2010 04:22 PM

well the model I pointed at has 1695mb vid mem
runs windows 7, and I go through the whole thing and delete all the crapware that every computer comes with.

KLAB 02-09-2010 04:52 PM

The one you posted is nice but wtf they said they didnt have it? >.<

DemonWithin99 02-09-2010 08:34 PM

not available for shipping. check local stores

or look at the next model it's almost identical,

HP Dv6-2155dx

irockidz28 02-10-2010 01:39 AM

i went with the toshiba and i love it i can run CAD and sketch-up listen to music and surf the web at the same time with no problems
and according to the sticker on it..lol...it has:
Intel Core2 Duo processor T5800
4GB 800 MHz ram
320GB hard drive
and a 9 cell battery which will last 2-3 hours depending on what programs im running

the only time it starts to get slow is when the CAD files get really big or im doing landscape stuff & rendering in sketch-up

black heartbeat 02-10-2010 01:48 AM

go for hp or the high end asus. Hp is proly your best bet in my opinion

ILuvPizzaTimes10 02-10-2010 02:23 AM

your paying for a name wen you buy sony hp or anything along those lines. theres only 3 major laptop manufacturers in the world and aside from the covers the computers them selves are most of the time the same minus a few options. Asus has been manufacturing laptops sence day one. MSI if you havent heard of them as another big player wen it comes to laptops and everyone buy there crap from them and just slaps there logo on it. ill pay hundreds less for a tosh or asus over a sony or hp. get the same product minus some fancy cover for less..... just my 2 cents

c4boom 02-10-2010 02:50 AM

and that is y i picked the one I did

black heartbeat 02-10-2010 04:30 PM

^^^very true, but I do need to say that hp has a tendency to be some of the most reliable when it comes to components they use. The make good laptops but more or less all the brands are using the same parts

ILuvPizzaTimes10 02-10-2010 04:49 PM

thats the thing they dont manufacture there own laptop its the same manufacturer Sony and Toshinba use. there all made by MSI.

DemonWithin99 02-10-2010 10:51 PM

made by them yes but they do use different components from different vendors. like when our cars were made they were assembled in the same plant, but used different parts to make them. (body panels and interior)

KLAB 02-13-2010 05:03 PM

what do yall think about this??

TBerry95z28 02-13-2010 05:15 PM

KLAB 02-16-2010 01:03 AM

Okay I'm really liking this one I saw at bestbuy today:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+L...&ref=39&loc=01

ILuvPizzaTimes10 02-16-2010 06:45 AM

Nice Lappy. The cors 2 duo tends to be a battery hog though. dont expect great battery life wen you rendering 3d shit for a while.

DemonWithin99 02-16-2010 09:29 AM

it's only a 1.3ghz chipset and can't upgrade past the 4gb ram... find something with more power for what you wish to do.

KLAB 02-16-2010 01:37 PM

Extended battery life
Of up to 9 hours and 45 minutes to give you more time away from an outlet.

ILuvPizzaTimes10 02-17-2010 05:15 AM

that shit lies buddy. my extended life battery in my sony WITH intel centrino duo was supposed to last almost 10 hours like that one sez im lucky if i get 3 out of it if im on it with the screen brightness all the way up.

irockidz28 02-18-2010 12:12 AM

my nine cell will last around three hours
