Diablosport Tuner?
Anybody use it? I'm wondering if I should buy one or not. I was going to get a street/dyno tune, but it will be around $500, but I could buy the tuner for $250 and just tune the car myself. I know, it won't be as affective, but it will give me gains if I tune it right, no? I'm still running lean, can I mess around with the a/f ratio with the tuner?

no no and no. get it pro looked at first. drop it off at dons. start fucking with an un modded car that runs lean the way it is in stock form. find out why its lean first!!! dont blame the tune. its a sensor get it fixed before(what the diablo will do) is add timing and blow your shit up.

junk you can get Don's tune for less then 500 and will be safe with more hp more mpg and a better driveability. If you really wanna tune yourself buy a laptop tuning software like hptuners and start studying your ass off! lol

You have an LS1, Don has the software to tune it already if I'm correct. Take advantage of his expertise and get it done right. Even if you were to get HP Tuners it will cost you 450 for the software alone and its not easy to learn. Take advantage of the fact that you have an LS1 and not and LT1 like me that I'm going need to bring Don the software to tune it, lube and knee pads when I go to try to get him to tune mine

It can't be stressed enough that you need to fix whatever is causing it to run lean before any tuning is done. It should not be running lean on the stock tune, there is a mechanical problem, most likely MAF or O2 sensor. Once it is running right I would bring it to a reputable tuner (Like Don) rather than trying to do it yourself. You can do serious damage if you make a mistake. I thought he charged around $300 for a street tune but double check with him.

for what it is worth if you go to Don to tune the car when he plugs his comp in to tune it he will know what sensor is to blame and will probably fix it for alot better price then any other garage not to mention probably has what you need laying around and fixing it and the tune will probably still be less then the predator or close to.

I agree, a predator only really works well on a stock vehicle, you can only make so many adjustments without buying a tune from them. Get it done right by a pro AFTER you get it fixed.

My dads car was having a lot of issues and we brought it to Don, he hooked up the computer and told us what was wrong, how to fix it and even tried one of his own MAF's to make sure it was the culprit. We fixed what we were told and the car is running mint with no MIL. My dad was very impressed with Don and his knowledge and how much he helped us when he wasnt making shit for money on us. |
What it sums up to is Don is the man
