Wtb: C5 or C6 wheels
Like the title says. Figured I'd see if anyone has anything floating around before I just order up a new set.
Basically I'm open to anything but chrome wheels, or wagon wheels. If anyone has anything else let me know. If not I'll most likely be ordering a set next week. |
i;m looking for some too... :)

Actuay I'm open to almost anything in the vette or 4th gen offset that isn't chrome or a stock 4th gen wheel. I'm so undecided but need a set of wheels to mock up my car with. And I need them asap.
Worst case I bite the bullet and order all new after we get back from our road trip next week. |

and already talked to this guy if these would have fit I would go with them http://hartford.craigslist.org/pts/2201683835.html |
The first set I'd be all over I they were 17/18" but I really don't think I want 18/19" cause I don't feel like paying for 19" tires all the time. And I know I'm not going to be easy on tires.
Second set I'm iffy on. Not sure if they'd kill the look of my car or not :/ |
your really gunna run 4th gen back space on the car? i dunno i think it looks terrible wen you run the newer car offsets. i mean yeah it handles better and there are benifits for doing it But??? the look i dunno maybe its me but newer style wheels belong on newer cars, and classic STYLING belongs on classic cars, i say get Billet Specialties!!!

Yeah I think the offset would look weird on a 1st gen, as played out as they are I'd go with Torque Thrusts or TT2s before the wheels you're considering. Just my $.02 :mytwocents:

Personally I would do OE Wheels C4 ZR1s
They can be had in 17/18 Combo, and even Deep Dish or 11s out back... and the real beauty is they are ~$500 for a set of 4.... Can't go wrong!!! They also do have C5 or even C6 setups as well, but I think the C4s bridge the Old/New gap in looks perfectly:crazyhi: |
I hear what you guys are saying but, I have no choice but to run the vette/4th gen backspacing. I plan on swapping the whole vette front subframe into my car to keep all of the factory geometry intact. I don't want to negate the benefits of the vette parts by narrowing the track width.
Alex, I thought about tt2's and probably would if it wasn't for one big issue. They won't clear vette calipers without a LOT of grinding. And I do mean a lot. We had to do it on an old friend of mines car and it's not something I want to do. And I'm really not a fan of c4 zr1's. Want to stay more modern. I wouldn mind some of the other aftermarket options but I'm also not looking to spend 2g's on wheels/tires right now. Some sort of c5/c6 replica wheels I think will fit the bill. I've seen a few pics of first gens with 4th gen offset wheels and don't think it looks all that bad. I do realize it's a love it or hate it thing but I think with the right wheel it'll look pretty badass. Just need to decide between silver or black at this point. And trust me, if I had a dollar for every time I heard how horrible yellow with blue flames looks I'd be a rich man. I'm used to getting criticized lol. |
Actually I think the paint looks awesome
