Is that the under driven balancer?

Suicidal racing 11-07-2011 10:14 PM

no..its 7.5 dia also

ILuvPizzaTimes10 11-08-2011 12:56 AM

Damn ahh well. i keep grenading alternators from high rpm.

A under drive one would just make your problems worse then due to you spinning the stuff even faster..last thing you would want is a underdrive one..

I was going to use the balancer on my old deal with a stock alt..i was looking to be around 7400 rpks shift wise with that motor at the time

ILuvPizzaTimes10 11-08-2011 02:20 PM

underdrive mans just that. the accessories spin Under speed. Under driven. Smaller Drive diameter mean less applied rpm to Driven pulleys. unless im wrong? being doing dirt bike gear ratios sence i was 12 and the same theory applies.

Suicidal racing 11-08-2011 03:49 PM

nope..think about it like this..you have 2 pulleys, one is 7" other is 7.5"..say they are both spinning at 5k rpms, the smaller pulley has less travel across it so there for it will be spinning faster then the bigger one.if you marked the belt in the same spot in time the belt would end up lapping the other so to say because it is spending less time on the smaller pulley vs the big one..

thats why you put under drive pulleys on.it takes less power to turn the acce's on the car which intern frees up power.

im sure if you went on ls1tech you can find threads about people burning shit up with underdrive pulleys on there cars.

i would run a norm size pulley for a balancer and swap to a larger pulley on say the alt to slow the whole system down.

this is back up member bolo on ls1tech has dicked me around on this same part twice by saying moneys in the mail and then a week later saying hes had family problems an can no longer get the part..guess the money was never in the mail..fucking lieing pos.

150$ shipped..thats 100$ off the cost of it new and your getting a brand new part just like you would from summit
