new motor?!?!?

not for me, but someone sent me this because they don't want to deal with a used motor/rebuild. seems like the cheapest option on a new motor.

seems legit, but who knows. opinions?

maybe your brother should pony up and actually get a good one.

You get what you pay for however I am sure tht it is a cheap rebuild and would work fine.

Why not save and buy a shortblock?

DemonWithin99 02-17-2013 11:45 PM

Having difficulty finding a short block. He's done dealing with rebuilt, or used. But really has a small budget. I've pointed out like 90 other options, but to no avail. He was ready to pull the card out and buy it as soon as he saw it. Impatience is going to kill his dreams...

Found several lq9's in need of a rebuild, for great prices, but he's dead set on finding something new with a warranty. Not easy to do since they've basically stopped selling anything less than ls3's and ls7's.

want a warranty have a motor rebuilt locally for the car that will be warrantied.

frankzlt1 02-18-2013 01:05 AM

Try power source engines they offer a 3 y 100.000 mi warranty and if you order on line they will throw in another 2 years of warranty. A 99 ls1 is $2649 with a $350 core and free shipping.

If you plan on a motor like that and have us put it in, just make sure we price it out for ya. Might save you money.

Slowhawk 02-18-2013 01:38 AM

Keep in mind that just because places say Warrenty, doesn't mean they will when they break. Have dealt with shit company's a few times about Warrenty.

DemonWithin99 02-18-2013 04:17 AM

I hear ya. I told him to shoot yo an email, figured you might not have anything laying around this early in the build season... lol

I also told him to wait and see what you might be able to get. Lack of patience is what'll cost more. Not entirely sure what the hell is really wrong with this one, I'm sure you'll know exactly what it is by the time it gets in you're shop again... lol
