Need a truck...Suggestions?

Welp I'm sick of driving my car everyday and need something to drive thru the winter. I can't stand the thought of crashing my car again.

I'm looking at ECSB Sierras (99-) but finding them with minimal rust is tough. How do you guys feel about these trucks? Are there common issues I should worry about? My moms got a silverado and has put over 100k on it with hardly any effort. Would you guys recommend something else? Gas mileage isn't important since my work is 5 miles from my house...has to be a truck tho I just want to gather some thoughts!

I had a 98 Tahoe 2 door. Loved that truck. Had 188000 when I sold it. No major issues ball joints up front. Mainly just one that's not rotted out. I did go through 3 rear diffs finally junked the factory g80 after the second Grenade and put in an eaton LSD. Other than that no major issues.

I purchased a 2001 extended cab 4x4 Z71 a few months back with 104k on the clock, clean as a whistle for 7200.00. Runs and drives as new. I will never buy another new truck again. I average about 17mpg and it pulls the car trailer with little effort.

GET A HEMI!!! Listen to pizza, 99-01= junk, I had a 99 gmc reg cab short bed, brake lines rotted to shit, rear ended some lady in traffic cuz I blew a brake line, then I blew a second one, frame cracked in half on both sides, truck was still clean, had it welded, cost me 850 to get that done, transfer case was shit after one winter. But to be honest, ive had em all, ford, dodge, chevy, gmc, they can all be good trucks as long as you take care of them, and you look before you buy, take your time, and dont jump on the first truck you like, make sure you buy a gem.

I'd buy a cheap 4 banger truck. Good on gas and cheap to fix. I dont really know much about trucks but i do know those older tacoma's are pretty damn tough.
