I've thought of that too!

Are you positive it's a lifter and not an exhaust leak? Those 6.0s are a bit noisy anyway and know for exhaust manifold bolts being crap. My 6.0 makes a little noise sometimes when it's cold. It's a rock solid engine when taken care of.

It's definitely a knock. This gets slightly quieter when you rev it a little so that tells me it's not a rod bearing. Those tend to be kinda quiet at idle but get VERY loud if you rev it. I still have to give it some time to listen to it but the second I pick it up, there's a NAPA 2.2145 miles down the street so I'm stopping there on the way home. Getting a couple cases of oil, seafoam, marvel mystery oil, Engine flush and a bunch of maintenance items. Gonna throw a little Mystery oil in right there so it'll start the process while I'm driving it home. Gonna give it a good listen on the way home. I don't think he was meticulous about his maintenance.

That'd be sweet... but for an $1800 truck, I'm gonna have a hard time really dumping money into this other than tires, suspension items and maybe throwing a tune on it. The underhood and door jambs are silver and the paint is red and it's about to be black or flat OD/MIL Green. So it's almost three different colors now.. lol
I'd like to put a turbo in it and just call it good.. But all in die time. I still have to play catch up now on my savings so I can get back on track. I'm "supposed to" be saving for a house for later this year.
I think this is going to be something for me to tinker with to keep that side of me happy. I have to have something to tinker with or I'll go out of my mind... like I am now. It's too expensive to tinker with the R32..... and too much of a PITA.
