I do a lot of polishing and clear doesn't like to stick to cleared surfaces, especially when it's something that is going to be subjected to road debris.
Paint needs a somewhat rough surface to "bite" into and polished surfaces are way to smooth. Also, the better and finer the polished surface, it will be much easier to keep up with. It gives less imperfections for dirt to work itself into |
