6.0?

Of course :)

Gonna sit on the stand for a while but I have everything from pan to intake including a LS1 intake.

Got a few questions, how strong is the stock bottom end? I know the Rod bolts are weak but the motor is a 99-00 motor. The heads I have are iron so I know theyre pretty much junk. Would a set of 241 heads be a good setup with a nice cam?

Also not sure if its gonna be EFI or carb yet but How bad is the LS1 intake? I want to shoot for 450-475rwhp with this thing.

L92 heads FTW, you have a 4.0 bore so you can use them. Stock crank is a beast (casting # should be 12552216) and has proven itself in 1000 HP engines. I have NEVER heard of a crank failure. I'd get some H-beam rods and forged pistons and you should be good.

Having given it some thought I'd go with L92 heads and the L92/LS7 Carb manifold $2700.00 for the entire top end conversion and electronics or piece it out if you want to re-use some of your stuff. Only thing you couldn't use for sure are the intake rockers, L92 has offset

Well having given it some thought I want to use the L92's, seems like the best bang for the buck. I also think I'm going to use the GMPP front drive setup and run a carb.

I'm still looking at intakes, not sure if I want the GMPP L76/L92 intake or the edelbrock ones.

Dont think snything will swap over from the 406, just the carb and my MSD stuff.

I've been looking into this as well : http://static.summitracing.com/globa...1_frm28939.pdf

Still curious if it uses stock coils and just uses the crank sensor to tell the MSD when to fire or if it works in a different way. If it does it just like that I'll do it that way.

But if I need the front drive kitand a distributor I dont get why I would need the converter at all?

The best way would be to just use the coils get the msd or eddie ignition box and run the carb. that way you can have a fully programmable Ignition.

84ta406 03-09-2010 03:25 AM

The MSD/Eddy ignition box is hit or miss. I was told its not good for a performance build, its meant for a cheap easy carb swap. Thats what a MSD tech told me today.

Fuck it I'm just gonna use the front drive kit, ford dist. and my Digi 6+
