Transmission shop

I picked up a Trans go shift kit and a vette servo for dirt cheap. After going through the directions several times and looking online for tips...I just dont feel comfortable doing this myself on my daily driver. I really cant have more then a two or three days of down time.

So, while reading online allot people were saying shops were charging 200-250 dollars to get this job done. So far Ive called 3 places....cheapest $400!!! I was just wondering if anyone knows some good shops that may be cheaper then this? If not I may just take the risk of doing it myself....I really want this in the car.. Its been sitting in my room for 7 months and im sick of looking at it lol.

How far you willing to travel?

I know a guy in Manchester NH, only person around here I've used that I trust 100%

On these cars you pretty much have to pull the tranny.Thats an easy $250-$350 right there. Then install the parts.I wouldn't recommend the shift kit,ect unless your putting in another converter. On the stock converter the kit will be hard on the tranny.

i would just get it tuned for less money don can street tune it and move the shift points to where ever they need be

If things dont work out, I may travel that far. I have a cousin I can visit while I am up there haha.

Thanks everyone, Ive done my research and asked many other people with the same exact or close to it application as me, and I will be running the shift kit and vette servo on my car.

better get a small stall to go with it while your there. help driveablity with that harsh of a shift kit. if it were me id have a guy like Slowhawk Tune the tranny rather then install shift kit parts that by rights should be tuned for anyway.

Can don tune my 3.8? haha I may just do that. There isnt many people in the MA area that have much experience with the RWD 3.8 platform. Lots of FWD support though, might have to buy a grand prix....
