It's 2010 and I am now 20 years old.
- 2002 bought my first car, the 78 Z28 off my neighbor. Worked on it for a while, realized it was bigger than expected project.
- 2005 decided to take my step dads 81 C10 2wd pickup off his hands. Project was put the fresh bed and cab off my step grandpa's broken down 83 2500 pickup, put it on my 2wd frame, and the 355 w/ M4 drivetrain out of the 78z into the truck, badass lil rat rod truck. Took it out one night when I was like 16 with my buddy Jon with the new bed and cab on with the 305 and auto still in it no license yet and did donuts in the snow in the parking lot across the st from my house and slid into a light pole. Bent frame destroyed back corner pass side of cab and destroyed the bed so that was the end of that cut it up with a sawzall and junked it.
- couple months later my grandfather told me he was going to give me his 97 2wd heavy duty F-250 since I needed a car now that I had license and all my projects failed. Drove that from like summer of 06 till spring of 08, the 11mpg started to make my wallet angry and not having 4wd was fail. Put a down payment on an 04 shadow Grey Mustang GT with 70k miles and a messed up rear axle. Backed out of it when I did more research on Mustangs. THEN....
- Coming into work on a lazy Monday checked my list of wholesale trade in cars to do reconditionings on, decided to do the "95 silver Z28 Camaro" first. Got the keys, found it in the lot and started examining everything. "This thing only has 39k miles??? Its mint underneath! Wheres the rust!? wtf! I want this!!" Started getting excited and interested but thought the price range would be a long shot for a mint car. Didn't even start detailing at all any cars just sat in the sales dept. asking if they'd sell me the friggen car and asking more info. It was one of the managers friends cars from Arizona. He told me it was his friends car who lived in Scottsdale and only drove the Camaro to drive all the way from Scottsdale to New Hampshire in the spring to visit her mother. Well her mother was very I'll and the car gave her big problems on the way up water pump blew and took out the opti with it and some other things. Had it serviced at a GM dealer in PA new brakes, new opti, and new water pump. Then low coolant light came on or something and the AC compressor seized and started screaming and she didn't wanna deal with it anymore so she just traded it for a brand new 08 Mustang GT. Then he told me she was an ex stripper hahaha. :x ew. But regardless all the friggen car needed was a lil coolant line, a coolant level sensor, and a new a/c compressor and it was mint. Ever since then been the last project I got, and the only one that I've ever succeeded with and had great experiences with. Learned a lot about fuel injection and computer controlled cars and this "new technology" with this car and just keep liking it more and more. This car got me way more into F-bodies than I ever was, and motivates me to bring back the 78 Z that is still in my back yard. If I'm ever to get a new project I'm sure it will be a 4th gen and advance further in technology (LSx) now that I learn more about the computers and engine management
. Deciding I wanted to keep this low mile 95 Z Arizona car mint led to my next and last vehicle.
- January of 2010 found a winter beater (yeah, halfway through winter already), the legendary 2000 Bright Blue Metallic S^TURN SL1 5 speed!! (StitchY2K is its nickname) had 150k on the clock and for some reason thing is friggen mint??? GM did some pretty badass rustproofing on these cars I must say. I got it for 900 bucks because I convinced the seller the trans was broken and it'd cost me like 1500 for a trans (it was just a grinding noisy wheelbearing) So did the wheelbearing brakes tie rods and alignment tires and yay epic winter beater. Future plans are replace the headgasket if it hasn't already blown up by then timing chain and bolt a 4g63t turbo manifold onto it with a 14b muahahaha.
So there you go, [/KLaBz autobiography]
