Default Had some fun at work today

Got to play with this today at work.I was using it at work today to set these 4000lb concrete bases for decorative street lights. Usually I just drive the damn thing.

just backfill with sand/gravel? kinda surprised its precast rather then poured in place

Usually they do what they call a drill shaft for the traffic intersections and bigger uprights. Its pretty much the same thing but just alot deeper. These are fairly light poles. Yes we backfill with dirt but before hand we hydro pack the base with a big fire hose and water tank. The drill shafts are more exspensive too then a precast base.

Yeah, I was gonna say 10 ton, but the boom seemed really small. We had a 15ton on a boom truck we had at the crane place I worked at back in the day. Was a tree removal truck that was wrecked and we fixed it back up.
