Default Bosch Platinum plugs

So I had previously used these, the single electrode version and when I went to swap them out with my NGK TR55's 5 out of 8 had the external ceramic cracked... Never seemed to cause any issues though. Well a friend of mine bought a perfectly running motor put bosch single plats in and started it and said the damn thing sounded like it had a spun bearing... Pulled the plug off cylinder 3 and internal ceramic head of spark plug is gone so pop the head and the top of the piston and valves is chewed up bad. Some of the marks are a mm deep into the head of the piston... lol This is why I always steer people away from them. Maybe I just happen to see the rare occurrences of these plugs failing. Anyone else have any good/bad experiences with these plugs ? regardless i only run TR55's

Damn, I have TR55s for the Formula but now I want to go back and check what brand I put in my daily driver, can't remember if I got Bosch or Autolite.

The only time I hve seen the ceramic crack like that is from people over tightening the plugs intoo the head or aa shit ton of heat in the cylinder. Ive used Bosch plugs for years at my old job and never a issue.

Personally I have never used Bosch. A friend of mine with a 91 Blazer had used them for quite a while until he had one cracked on the #7 cylinder and has been using Autolites ever since.

I've been running the Delco 41-110 plugs in mine and will probably pull them and check em out because they've gotten about 30k on them. Might add it to my list next time I do an oil change and if they look like crap, swap over to the TR55's.

FWIW I used to use Autolite in all my stuff until I started having problems with the plugs blowing out at a high rpm. Swapped to NGK and use it in everything since.

Yeah proper installation is a cause of a lot of failures but I'm pinpointing correct installations. I went through 2 sets of bosch plats at correct torque tightening and everything and no problems since NGK. Guess it's different for everyone but concensus seems to stay away from bosch even though they do work for some. Hell you can use Bosch your whole life and not have a single issue but I've personally seen to many 1st hand so I moved on. In the end if it works for you then so be it lol. I've trolled forums but wanted to see what the local crowd thought.
