Seems like up here in New England, it just doesn't work out. The street racing interested audience around here I think is mostly dumb kids, which makes police crack down on it more. I can see how out in the central states it might be a little better.

One guy in my autocross club is in jail for just normal daily driving. He struck and killed a woman. Police decided to say he was street racing which I doubt he was knowing what I know of him. I'd hate to see what they'd do with him had he actually been street racing. This sealed the deal for me as far as ever joining any convoy drive meets ever again.

Come down to Seekonk Speedway in the spectator drags... you can legally race against other cars there side by side around the oval track

How much does that cost, and what do you need for safety equipment?

Not really any autocross "tracks" per se but there are a bunch of local clubs that use nice big parking lots

A lot at ft devens in Ayer, and there's the cart organization down in ct which would be pretty close to you. Google them, iirc they have a website. I just don't remember the link offhand.

I've seen the Spectator Drags at Seekonk many times. Usually, the inside guy wins and the outside guy wipes out.

If you go to race, bring a helmet and a big wad of cash. No insurance company is gonna pay for the damage. Set your car up for hard left hand turns. You're on a banked track so put a big old fatty tire on the right front and a shorty on the left front. And, yes, that wall is thick solid concrete..!!

It looks like this....

Good luck...!!!

I can't view those video clips from my work internet, but I wouldn't be suprised if my car is in those. I've actually raced in the drags since 2003. I was just trying to lure some more drivers out. It's fun

Autocross in MA is mostly at Fort Devens. It's safer than the spec drags Look up Boston BMWCCA (that's what I race in), NER.org, SVT club, Renegade Miata, and a few others.
