The 3 lights that will fail you for inspection are-
CEL of course! Airbag light- Must work and have a bulb in it. It is checked to make sure it comes on. Brake light- Must work and NOT be on with/without Abs light. Most newer cars put the red brake light on with the ABS light. Hope this helps. I can help some people if they are having problems getting their inspection sticker. I can't help everyody but I can do some stuff. I'm a real pita when it comes to my job! Lol

im sure its similar in MA but in NH it is a visual check by the inspector to make sure the airbag light and brake light isnt illuminated when u bring it into the building, the computer scan wont fail it for having those lights on. iirc
with the being said..... if the inspector is lenient enough *cough* *cough* ^^^^ he can pass you.
