Default KLaBz steeLtX

Call me a slacker, lazy, etc. Its Mid may and I have a shit ton to get done to the Z28. I just finished with this whalloper of a semester at school and now I'm gettin to it! You know the deets, heres what I gotta do:

  • Remove stock catted y-pipe, exhaust manifolds, and AIR system (delete).
  • Extend the 02 sensors.
  • Install the LPP stainless longtube headers and off road y-pipe. <---- shitshow!!! sent back and bought pacesetters and put those in EPIC FAIL!
  • Remove intake manifold, remove EGR system (delete), bolt on the block off plates and paint the intake black and polish the fins.
  • Tap a line for my mechanical oil pressure gauge.
  • Re-install and reseal (fixing rear AND front intake manifold leak)
  • Clean up cluttered wires and basically make the top of the motor look nicer.
  • Get some different valve covers and put those on.
  • Run the lines and wires for the oil pressure and coolant temp gauges.
  • Take apart the "new" 3.42 rear and install new axle seals and bearings.
  • Wire brush the shit out of it and paint it all black.
  • Get a rear diff cover and plop it on.
  • Add new fluid.
  • Then just drop out the old 2.73 rear and put the new one in, connect all the brakes back up and put the catback back on, then mount the sexy CME valence and tips and make up some pipes to work with it.
  • Finally plug the laptop in and with tuner c.a.t.s. remove the codes for the egr/air delete and calibrate the speedo for the gear change from 2.73's to 3.42's. and according to Pizza I have to change the shift points... hmmmm

But on a side note I've been doing some epic preparation for this challenging endeavor. I have severely upgraded my "work area" and basically transformed it from a shitty area of dirt with a roof over it to a semi garage/shop. Here are just a few pics from the beginning stages, I have more updates to come with the addition of my parts shed and windblocker wall and progress on my giant home made ramps.

Basically how it used to be. Cutting an edge to hold back the load of crushed stone I'm about to lay down:

The brown bomber once again gettin the job done. Old reliable. One load of the like 6 truckloads I've got over the past 3 months. This is to make a level surface to build a floor platform to work on, all while neatening up around my house and making things look much nicer:

Level surface achieved. mmm sweet illumination:

the floor/platform before the 3 coats of durable grey paint. Multiple 2x10x10's ontop of a 2x4 and 2x8 constructed frame. Perfect solid floor to roll jack around on without worrying about shit sinking into the dirt:

mmm sweet flourescentness

and my poster I made at work:

These are all the pics I have right now, but everything is already done and I have such a better work area now, its literally like an outdoor garage just with no walls. I'll take more pics of everything tomorrow to show you guys how cool it is, then I'll get back on track with the thread and post up Camaro work progress. Damn a.d.d.

klab the tuning side of it is easy. its not like you're messing with air fuel and spark. that shit stays left alone. just a few minor tweaks so you dont hit the limiter on shifts.
