Thanks Nick!

I'm not sure what number 3 will end up being, but number 4 will probably end up being less than zero. Most hobbies probably work out that way, and for me it's technically interesting and it keeps me out of trouble. lol.

Car looks awesome Dave , the previous owner must have been surprised. How long did it take for them to judge the car?

Thanks Frank! He loved it and was very emotional when he was talking about the car. He said the main reason for selling it was because the Chevelle had AC and his wife (or girlfriend) was complaining about the heat since they were in Florida.

There were different sets of judges for different areas. I believe there were 7 of them. Two did the engine bay. Two did the body. One did the interior. One was checking underbody and wheels. Another did the safety check. I lost track of the time, but I think it was about an hour.

You were correct on the heat riser. I ended up getting a deduction for it. I was taking JohnZ's postings as gospel since he has a survivor car and he was a long time GM engineer during the time these cars were made.

Maybe a mistake was made and his was put on incorrectly at the factory. Survivor cars at the show had it on the same way you said your's was originally.

At least it's an easy fix.

If you don't mind sharing, It would be interesting to see the judging sheet.
