yeah I was thinking about those Falken's just reviews look like ass, better off with the nexen'ss, or hankook's. I'm more likely to get them online vs. local since they all blow up the $ to compensate for the 'free alignment'. I have like 20 pages of tires I've been going over and researching my ass off (because I'm that kind of shopper) before I spend the $ on something that will suck more than the crapstercrafts I've had on it for the last 3-5yrs.

So if your close to Windsor CT (or don't mind driving a little) you can save the shipping which pays for the mounting/balancing....

Really? I got my last set of tires for my daily driver from there, I thought I had asked about local pickup and been told it wasn't available, maybe I never asked. It's only like 20 miles from me.

What do you have, Mastercraft Avenger HPs? I have those on my 16s. Honestly I don't really think the tires you are looking at are a big step up from them, if you really want some quality rubber at least get 555 Extremes.

Anything I'm looking at is better than these. I don't mind cheapo's since I'll likely never see the track, but I have 2 sets of 16"s so a pair of DRs when the time comes would be easier to deal later on.

As far as the 555s I've been looking at those forever, but now that my local connection got moved I lost the deal he was going to get a few of us. Had a discount deal if he sold 3-4sets in one shot they would have cut the cost by almost $25per tire because that's what the warehouse had left in stock. But now that's a lost deal. Going with the nexens.

the price range your looking at all the tires perform the same. Shitty. the falkens have a higher rubber content and are grippier hence the lower mileage warranty. id say if your gunna buy shit. buy the cheapest shit you can. no sense in spending more for no gain.

I think for a while when it first opened they didn't allow local pickup, but I know for a fact it's available ONLY if you call them specifically (# is listed on the site though), Web orders are a no go, and you definitely need to call the CT warehouse specifically.

DemonWithin99 04-03-2012 02:41 AM

Yea I talked to them they have to take the order over the phone and charge tax,.
Even f I drive up to the tirrack warehouse I'm spending more on gas than it would cost to ship.

and after more review I'm leaning more on the Hawks. No matter what I do I'm spending a bit more that i 'd like to, but it just means I'll need to save a bit longer for my truck... lol

DemonWithin99 04-03-2012 03:26 AM

Orrrrrr...... I can ease my pain by going with a 255/40/17 and save a bunch by getting better tires.

DemonWithin99 04-03-2012 04:10 AM

And of course I found these... I'm such an ass....
